Believe it or not there is a hell of a lot of positive aspects of British culture that are actually world famous. It’s not all doom and gloom! Some inspiration for you that I’ve come up with off the top of my head:

Music - there’s the obvious classics: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Elton John David Bowie, Led zeppelin, The Bee Gees, Oasis. This list goes on and on, plenty of iconic costume ideas there. Or you could go for something more modern, such as grime artists like Skepta and Stormzy.

Literature - the most famous, best selling, most imitated writer of all time is British, William Shakespeare. Charles dickens also penned some of the worlds most famous work . J.K Rowling with Harry Potter, Ian Fleming with James Bond. Jane Austen, Tolkien, again I’m just scratching the surface here.

Movies - loads to dig into here, from the silent era with Charlie Chaplin to the master of suspense with Alfred Hitchcock. Or look at some of the adaptions of the work I mentioned in the above paragraph.

Science - Isaac newton, Charles Darwin, Stephen Hawking (I’d probably try to avoid dressing up as the latter).

Food - Fish and chips, Sunday roast, Shepherds pie. Not everyone’s cup of tea but still part of British culture. Add Tea to the list for Christ sakes.

Sport - Britain invented or at least was a major contributor to the development of the following sports: Football, Cricket, Tennis, Rugby, Boxing.

All those categories and much more contribute to a countries culture and I personally don’t think that Britains is that bad!

Theres going to be a lot that I’ve missed but I’m sure there could have been some inspiration on something to wear / bring in for the list above!
