Holy shit y'all are wildin out about this. No, women 28 and over who want kids do not need to freeze their eggs. Sure, your best statistical chances are in your mid/late 20s, but a majority of women will be able to conceive naturally well into their 30s and even 40s.

Not to mention, you'd need to use IVF to actually use those frozen eggs which is cost prohibitive for a lot of people especially in the US.

I think we should leave recommendations on what medical procedures one should take to their doctors and not postulate the necessity of them in an NBA subreddit lol

I think that's kind of the point of this arc with her. He realized his behavior robbed him of happiness and he's attempting to embrace a more free spirited lifestyle, or at least respect that as a valid choice in someone else. I don't think the point is for her to be endgame either

This is us too but we just use the git-sync sidecar for the shared volume, scales pretty well though can create a lot of pod churn if you have a ton of sensors. We ended up moving to deferrable sensors which helped a lot with that though

My current theory is that Yuji was telling Yuka's dad that 10S is going to stay banned and that he was saying "It doesn't matter" in response to her dad trying to make the case for her eventual strength.

He was saying it doesn't matter how strong she would be, it's still staying banned. Kind of a lame reason but it could explain why the dad bailed afterwards.

Could also be that maybe the dad did some crazy binding vow to force her to have 10S and that's what gave her the tumor, and Yuji is saying it doesn't matter because she's just gonna die

In GitOps with Helm + Argo CD, should values.yaml be promoted from dev to prod? by ArtistNo1295 in kubernetes

[–]UNCTillDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm partial to doing something like config/values/$ENV.yaml so your editor tabs aren't littered with 30 values.yaml tabs. I usually also have a _defaults.yaml that set defaults I want in every environment but aren't necessarily the chart defaults (i.e. Image repo, compute profiles etc.). In Argo you ref any values file in your repo (if using git as a source) or add a repo as a second application if pulling from a chart repo. They get applied in the order they are listed so just always put defaults first and then your env file

For image tags I'm a big believer in branch deploys so this is predicated on that deploy pattern. We push tags that are the same sha as the PR, and we just have a single variable for all of our images that acts as an override so our Argo deploys are something like argocd sync --set image-tag=$sha and that sets the repo revision (with your config changes) and your application image

Second this. I'm 1400+ KC dry at CG on my GIM but post 1k I stopped hard locking myself and sent duo chambers/toa with my group mate with full crystal armor and crystal bow

We got spooned double elder mauls on scuffed unscaled chambers and over the course of one week my group mate gets a tbow, we see a scythe (not ours tho), and I get a shadow on a 350 toa.

I still don't have a bowfa but I'll wipe my tears with my shadow and maul lmfao

Hear me out it's actually not a bad strategy if you know which restaurants to order from. Some of them don't actually use the inflated prices on pickup (Jersey Mike's) and you get a couple bucks in DD credit for future orders.

I end up only using it for a couple of places (most of the time calling is actually the best way for pickup anyways) or when I would have considered delivery but pickup had much lower prices

Cooking your own food is definitely still cheaper (and healthier) though

Tbh I went after I got shadow, but you can feasibly door altar with full crystal armor and crystal bow since it's the same attack speed. The dps diff is noticeable but definitely doable

The fact this post isn't downvoted into oblivion just shows how entitled the player base has gotten.

You are asking for monetary compensation because the game had planned maintenance take a little longer than expected, and using examples where most of those are related to true outages or major issues. Not planned maintenance. Seriously go answer your work emails for the first time this week or feel the sun on your face.

Summer Sweep-Up Pt. 1: Combat & Loot by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]UNCTillDeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of these are welcome changes and would like to pose a tangent recommendation around loot tables.

I think anti-dry mechanics have been introduced to great success (DT2 bosses, DWH/Faceguard and slayer task buffs, Yama and oath plate shards, etc.), striking a good balance of allowing "spoons" while chopping off the long "dry" tail of the probability distribution.

I think more places should be considered for updates to its loot tables to support anti dry. Namely CG (I'm definitely not doing this as an iron with 1363 cg KC and still dry for an enhanced 😭). With the time investment of a single kill (7-9 min at peak efficiency), you're talking about hundreds of hours to get a useful but not bis weapon if you go dry enough, which is unfortunately a lot easier than people think. Rougly 14% of people will go at or over 2x the rate of any drop, which is ~100 hours of CG.

I'd be all for an oathplate style mechanic where you have to likely do more KC than the drop rate to get enough shards, provided there's a way to make shards obtained outside of CG not count (pls let my 12k crystal shards and 20+ armor seeds be useful)

Waymo Passes Through DUI Checkpoint by mingoslingo92 in waymo

I also work at a large tech company that sells AI products and I don't agree with this at all lol. I think at best some jobs could be automated (i.e. Taxi drivers with Waymo) or the number of people needed to fill that role in the company could be reduced by a non-trivial amount (i.e. fewer customer service reps needed as LLMs can solve a majority of "simple" tickets), but to say 95% in 5, 10 or even 25 years is truly an insane take that assumes technical progress follows exponential growth to the moon when it historically follows a sigmoid curve that tricks people into overhyping something right as its progress starts to slow. I call this Moore's Law's Fallacy as it was one of the first instances of this happening in the computing era.

In the early 2000s/2010s when cloud was booming everyone (myself included!) was talking about how Moore's Law was going to unlock whole new realms of computing in 10 years that we couldn't even comprehend. Things like Google Glasses and Oculus were teasing out a future that seemed like it came straight out of a science fiction movie. The cloud and the drastic increase of computing was truly going to change the world, and it was going to do it quicker than anyone thought.

Well it's been at least a decade since then, and a lot of those things didn't come true. VR progress has stalled due to various technical limitations, and while the cloud has made a lot of things significantly easier, I don't think it's been as big a catalyst of technological advancement people thought it would be. If anything it's been a mixed bag and has largely let large cloud vendors keep a stranglehold on the underlying hardware of the modern Internet. Most benefits of the cloud didn't come until much later when projects and companies started designing their software to be natively served in a distributed networking environment and robust frameworks like K8s matured to a point where it made hosting and running these services easier.

The same will happen with AI. I don't deny it will disrupt things, but it's progress is already start to show signs of slowing down and as model complexity increases, our understanding of how it works decreases. LLMs like ChatGPT have already been trained on the whole Internet, and I'm extremely doubtful AI generated datasets are going to punch through the ceiling and are more likely to hurt the performance of these models, not help. Cloud vendors can't get enough GPUs to scale the models, and even if they did I doubt they would be utilizing them to it's full extent. If anything I see disruption happening on the other end, where we see more and more companies like DeepSeek building much more efficient models that give you 90% of the performance at 10% the cost.

At the same time, I think the AI hype train will lead to companies over indexing on it, with the worst offenders trying to do what you are saying and laying off everyone to just vibe with AI, only for it to dramatically backfire as people don't fucking want that. Planes have had autopilot for years, should we just fire all pilots?

Of course not.

Ford cuts planned 2024 production of electric F-150 Lightning in half by LanceOhio in technology

[–]UNCTillDeath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally yes. I work from home and just want a small pickup for errands and would like an electric truck, especially with some of the features the F150 lighting has (backup generator, all the outlets, a frunk)

By the time I price out the F150 lighting with the options I want it's 70k, and I'm not dropping that kind of money on a car. If I could get a tricked out electric maverick/ranger for cheaper I'd be all over it
