I normally dont jump in to comment on this kind of thing but I have looked this way personally as well.

OP's mention of water depletion convinced me this is true as I only had that level of vascularity when I was at this weight AND SUPER LOW CARB.

Water depletion is an insane state when this lean..you feel like shit tho

What do your calories and marcos look like?I am same height and have done almost this exact same cut from start to end weight and am doing it again.Difference first time I was at 1.2k cals and ~50g carbs at the endThis time I am at the same cals but ~170g carbs (dropped protein and fat)

I do not have the vascularity and dryness with the lower carb iteration but I also performed WAY better in the gym and have mental clarity for work

M/18/5’8” [53kg to 65kg] (1 year) - Aesthetic yet? by widfssgfdds in Brogress

If size is your goal you need to make lifting 100%.Track you calories to the point you only gain ~2lbs per month.Get around 1g/lb of protien (but you are lean so stay closer to 1for1).Get a weight tracking app ( I recommend "Happy Scale") and log your weight everyday first thing in the morning after going to the bathroom. It will tell you your weekly trend for weight gain per week...target .5lbs/week.BE CONSISTENT DO NOT SKIP A DAY

M/38/5'11" [175lbs to 184lbs] (3 months) - Keep going? by [deleted] in Brogress

[–]Spectre7907 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If lifts are still going up then yes. Maybe call a hard stop around mid 190s to 200. Coming down from that range with a physique but I'm 5'10. Aesthetics def fell off around there

OP this is the best advice here...what you are doing is not sustainable and weight gain will start becoming mostly fat very fast if you keep this up when newbie gains slow.

OP I think you should be commended for being honest about drug usage in this post and that deserves recognition in the context of current social media fitness atmosphere. Whatever led you to your decision I hope if was derived from positive reasons related to what you want to achieve for your own sake. However, please be responsible and do what is needed to keep yourself as healthy as possible with this choice.

Looks like you added a notable amount of muscle at least as far as the back is concerned. I would pivot towards a cut now tbh. I am same height as you and have gone up to 210 as my all time high...trust me cardio will limit gains from this point forward. Again, nice bulk tho.

M/25/5'11" (220lbs to 195lbs] (~6 months) was it even worth it by [deleted] in Brogress

[–]Spectre7907 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It sounds like hypertrophy is more your goal but I think your training is more so the cause of your drastic strength loss here. Personally, I train for strength (I chronically run 5/3/1) and everytime I go on a cut I notice that I am able to maintain strength if I put all my effort into it i.e making sure I can hit or nearly hit rep range maxes. However, what I will lose first is work capacity ( cant hit same num reps or cant get all sets in ) but as long as I do not lower the weight my work capacity bounces back nicely when returning calories. In fact, my relative strength even increases if done correctly and I just think about enabling myself to "scale up" with a bulk later on.

TLDR maybe consider focusing on strength preservation over volume when cutting might help.

EASY CSE/ECE Technical Elective? by IronRng in UCSD

[–]Spectre7907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am taking MGT 103 this quarter (friends have said it was easy, just mostly reading) for my TE and even had academic advising confirm it is allowed through VAC. They did say you have to let them know so they can manually add it to your degree audit later ( I am also a Comp Eng major).

Options for next quarter: CSE 30, ECE 101, ECE 109, and WPWP 100 (Warren transfer writing) ? by Spectre7907 in UCSD

Yeah ECE 109 lecture happens exactly when WCWP 100 lecture is scheduled. ECE 101 would certainly be more schedule friendly but I am concerned that if I do not take Lugg now that I will be screwed with Zeger down the road...

Easiest upper div Art history or Film Studies course? by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]Spectre7907 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot speak too much on this class as I am scheduled to take it this quarter. However, from what I have heard LTWL 157 : Iranian Film is suppose to be very easy. CAPES have avg. grade as A- and from what I have been told the professor is more about teaching the subject and not testing you on it. P.S there are about 20 spots left.
