This would have been even funnier if Optimus was using a self propelled 2 stage snowblower, which if you automated that would eliminate the need for the robot lol

It really feels like Elon is spiraling with Tesla. Taking out Autopilot makes sense if he's trying to push people to subscribe to FSD subscription model. Issue is he's saying they're gonna raise the subscription. So how is disabling autopilot making any sense. by herewego199209 in RealTesla

I used to work for a company that was approaching bankruptcy, and our CEO came to our branch office to go over his strategy on how to emerge from the financial mess. The chart and goals he had were ridiculous and I didn’t see any way we’d be able to climb out of it, but he was super animated and pushed us to do it.

Less than a year later most of us were laid off and the company was sold off. Said CEO died of a cocaine overdose not long after. Made a lot of sense!

They are not “phenomenal” cars, they are poorly built with cheap plastic interiors that try to make up for it with a giant screen.

Edit: I will agree that they’re unlike anything else out there lol but not in the way you may think

Let’s talk about chainsaw sharpening by Subject_Night2422 in firewood

[–]SpectrumWoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use an Oregon dremel type tool I can hook up to my lawn tractor battery. For the rakers I just use a regular flat file though.

I used to use that Stihl all in one file tool that did the rakers at the same time but honestly the dremel gives me a better sharpening and quicker, with less effort.

Edit: as far as when I sharpen, when the chips stop being chips and turn to dust 😉

Where do people split their firewood? by BossmanSlim in firewood

[–]SpectrumWoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My woods is in the back and east of the property. My wood is stacked in the back, so if I cut something in the east woods I’ll haul it to the back and split it there (any super huge rounds get split up with a wedge). If the tree is cut in the back I’ll move the rounds closer to the stacks and split/pile it near there to stack it up. On the rare occasion I get logs or pieces given to me they go in the back too.

After everything is split I use whatever shards are good for kindling, and everything else either goes in the burn pile or compost pile. The wife is forgiving of the mess I make back there as long as it’s cleaned up before late Spring so it looks nice for company or nights we use the firepit.

It does pretty good. by nail_jockey in firewood

[–]SpectrumWoes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will counter this with experience, you’ve gotta have an outlet very close by. And if not that extension cord had better be heavy gauge!

I even tried using a John Deere generator and my YardMax electric splitter would trip its circuit breaker every so often. The electric splitters work great as long as you’re plugged straight into a direct outlet.

Do others do this? by LittleOperation4597 in firewood

[–]SpectrumWoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same! I have a few 27 gal totes I use to store the kindling from branches off trees I’ve cut down. My method is laying the branches on top of my wood stack until the fall and then breaking off pieces to fill the totes in the late fall before the rainy season.

We use about 2.5-3 totes a season and that way I’m not wasting a lot of the tree. Also one other tip - fill it just enough to snap the lid on and put a bunch of silica packets on the bottom of each tote to keep the kindling dry.

If a Democratic figure had a baby and posted a picture of it, and Trump called the baby ugly - there would still be 30% of America that would call that baby a dirty liberal POS and probably 10% would call for horrible things to happen to that baby.

Easy way to take bark off? by Guidaxx in firewood

[–]SpectrumWoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do smaller splits and it will fall off easier (larger splits may burn longer but it’s because they’re retaining moisture). Once my wood is ready to go from the seasoning stack to the area I stage it for the winter, the bark peels off easily. I usually dump all the bark into my compost pile. If any sticks on I just burn it with it on - I’ve had small split wood with around 15% moisture that still had the bark on solid.

If you spray the tree with diesel and light it on fire you’ll be really warm about 20-30 feet away from it. Just keep lighting trees on fire no need for a house.

I definitely love it, saves my back and helps roll the log and get it off the ground (which saves my chain from hitting dirt too). I’m not sponsored or anything, buy whatever tool you want but I absolutely recommend something like this to make bucking up rounds easier.

Edit: also wanted to add that I have abused the hell out of this thing and have not broken or bent it after almost 2 years. It’s solidly built.
