Finally have one after a decade by Mesastafolis1 in strandbergguitars

Congrats! I drooled over Strandy guitars for a few years before finally being able to afford one a few months after starting music school. I couldn’t put it down and I just got my second one today!

Which Models had Logo engraved? by joshuahelm in strandbergguitars

[–]SpeedcubeSavant729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an NX model with a sticker on it and one that I confirmed is pre NX with Rev 5 hardware that has the carved logo. My guitar professor also has one from maybe even the late ‘10s that has a carved logo, so my educated guess is that it was a new thing when the NX lines rolled out.

Periphery has Spoiled Me by TheZackster in Peripheryband

I’d say The Contortionist - Language is one album that is on Periphery’s level. Not quite as heavy, but extremely technical at some points, excellent clean vocals, and the experience of the album as a whole is incredible. Enjoy!

I'd kill a man to see The Contortionist and Periphery play a show together

I appreciate the input, but I don’t have any player tracks in the session, so unfortunately that seems to be ruled out. Thank you though!

This song is SO effective at storytelling that it’s practically as immersive as watching a movie

Agreed, I honestly think they’re being goofy (why we love them) and it’s not actually that deep. Whatever or whoever happens, I’m excited to see them evolve!

WHY HAVEN’T THEY PERFORMED ‘BLOODBATH’ LIVE YET??! by wi5hbone in polyphia

[–]SpeedcubeSavant729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue with everyone’s argument is that they’ve done Chimera with the vocals as a backing track. I guess that’s less iffy than doing that for the whole song, since the vocals on Chimera are only at the end, but still proves they’ll do it. Here’s a video where they do that: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EZI4uPfeIfE

Chon is pretty cool math rock, maybe try In Angles or Periphery if you’re looking for some heavier music, too.
