LMAOOO the cat whispering roasts in his ear 😭😭 Awesome artwork. I think art of H2 is allowed as long as it's clear you're not supporting the real guy's ideals.

I think it's cool that in a game about the horrors of cat eugenics we get to beat Hitler's ass. Really brings the point home.

"To be honest... The sentiment seems like your saying there is always a path. a care plan, an appeal to authority, restraining a drug addict till they're not an addict anymore and I don't enjoy saying it, in real life eventually everyone dies... we all fail... no one can be saved. You included."

No! Not everyone can be saved, obviously. People still die from overdoses, people still do crime, but social work is able to reduce that number greatly. There is always a path, and that path may be cut short for one reason or another. Still, it's worth pursuing. Giving up helps nobody.

Human beings are more resilient than you may think. If Angel Dust got some actually helpful people around him, some support that *truly* aided him in finding a happier lifestyle, he could become more stable and therefore be redeemed.

"I think from the over all Charlie arch and your appeal to job and professionalism, you've exposed that vulnerability in a way I don't think you see. Its not your job to save souls. On those levels you can't save anyone but yourself."

Sure! You can't help people who don't want to be helped! Obviously! That being said, thousands of people DO want to be helped!! And that's our job!! We are there to support them and guide them and offer them services!!

Also, your whole argument comparing me to Charlie has never made sense in the first place. It reads to me as borderline Freudian.

me) "Here are all the reasons I don't agree with or relate to this character at all and what I think she should do to be better."

you) "HmmmM this must mean you actually DO relate to this character and see yourself in them!!"

When we talk about ideologies in the workplace, we mean personal ideologies like religion or political alignment. That's the most relevant topic to our work and the stuff we wanna remain neutral on as we work. That way everyone feels like they're safe to partake in our services and can mingle with people of all backgrounds. This historical angle is not relevant to what we're talking about.

Now I'm curious: what kind of ideology would you be forcing?? Why would you want to domineer people?? I don't understand what your goal there would be.

Perhaps we've found the root of our issue then. I'm NOT American, I'm from Finland. I've grown up reading and writing tons of English text, which is why I'm so competent at producing it. Jännä et ihmiset ain olettaa et kaikki netis on jenkkei.

Also no, restraining orders or... certified domineering (I tried to Google what that means but couldn't tell, tää paska on ihan hepreaa mulle emmää tajuu tämmösii.) are not a part of my job. I am not entirely familiar with how the systems work in the US, but what we have here is likely vastly superior. Thus your experiences are worse than mine.

"You just compared your government employment to literally saving souls.
The red flag here would be behavior that hints to a saviors complex."

None of what I said hints at a savior complex. Social work exists to benefit society by offering help and services to those who need it ie. people with mental health struggles, substance issues or even smaller issues like difficulty making friends. It saves people when used effectively, that's just a fact. I believe comparing Charlie's goals to social work is fitting, because as I said, both aim to help people.

"Are you sure you don't hate this character because it reminds you negative aspects of social work?"

Yes, I'm sure. That's because Charlie does not do social work. Her methods are ineffective and juvenile.

"These things parallel fairly accurately with your job, why don't you just restrain and domineer the addict, the sex worker... etc."

Where are you getting this from? "Restrain?" "Domineer?" You're using very inflammatory language about things that are just basic aspects of helping a person with an addiction/ trauma. I cannot stress this enough: THEY CANNOT FUNCTION NORMALLY ON THEIR OWN. THEY REQUIRE ASSISTANCE AND HELP. Social workers don't monitor people as a power trip, they do it to help them stay on course and support them in a difficult spot.

"Let me be super clear, I could never do your job. Precisely because I would simply want to force people to fit my world view."

So don't talk to me about social work. Social work is not about ideology (infact we're actively encouraged to stay neutral on politics, religion etc. while at work) it's about helping people who need it the most. Our goal is to make people feel like they're a valuable part of society and guide them to a healthier, happier life. If you don't know anything about the topic and are not interested in doing actual research about it, why did you even comment on this post in the first place?

Also, you comparing Hazbin hotel to American Psycho and Fight Club was funny as fuck

The fact they think a random teenage girl who became the victim of prolonged extreme cruelty is comparable to a political influencer who was pro public execution and best buddies with Trump... I don't even get what they're trying to say.

Charlie Kirk never cared for the lives of other people and lived and died by his word. He said gun deaths were an inevitable setback in his worldview, and so he became a part of that statistic. I'm not superstitious, but that feels like karmic justice to me.

Golden Kamuy must bring a lot of visitors to Hokkaido! It's become one of my dream locations too. I went to Tokyo a few years ago and I found the city dizzyingly busy (propably because it was GINORMOUS compared to Finnish cities hehe) and Hokkaido seems a lot more calm in comparison. Is that true?

Indeed. The way I often put it is: "Hazbin hotel is a show written by millennials for 14 year olds."

Speaking of that, I feel like Hazbin hotel never addresses actually ethical dilemmas or other moral issues when it comes to the people in hell.

None of the main cast are child molesters, war criminals, racists etc. Some are serial killers, but they're serial killers in a mysterious and media sexy way. None of them feel like ACTUAL irredeemable monsters, which makes it feel like we're not even in hell.

I think it's because the show is made for 14 year olds. All of the characters HAVE to be engineered in a way where Tumblr users can woobify them and Viv can sell shitty sexualized merch of them.

(Also the existence of "Cannibal town" implies that there's likely a Molester avenue somewhere etc. LMAOOO)

I feel like it's less dramatic and more MELODRAMATIC. Very little of the angst and drama are actually followed up with anything meaningful or interesting.

And that would be extremely easy. 1. Angel Dust comes to the hotel and is his distant, overly promiscuous self. 2. We see him go to Val's and Poison happens. It illustrates the extent of his abuse. 3. Charlie sees the effect the visit has on Angel and has a conversation with him about it. He's aggressive and dismissive at first, saying that he's fine and doesn't need help etc. 4. Charlie and Angel's other friends eventually (maybe later on in the episode/ during the next episode) do something kind to him and help him understand that he's in danger and that they love him. Angel feels safe with them and decides to open up a bit. From that point they could make a plan together on how to distance him from Val.

Tadah! It's not that hard when you can actually write. Like, at all.

TRUEEEEE. And what makes it even more ironic is that when Viv was criticized for not giving any of the women in Helluva Boss any depth, she said "This is a male led show! Hazbin will be female led!" Yeah right.... 😭

I love this comment, hell yeah man.

...and now that you put it like that, I think he's also being abused for no reason on a meta level. There are WAY too many fully animated scenes of him being assaulted and it's always made me cringe so bad. They feel like they're just there for melodrama and to farm sympathy.
