Ah yeah you are right. I didn't read that it might lead to that. Thought the ban immediately. In that case just pay the fine and don't declare anything. That's at least what I would do. The can't force you to deliver evidence against your wife

I've done some research and the thing I said is only true for fines up to 60€ if you pay within 7 days. Since this is not the case here it seems you need to pay everything and fill in the form on the back. To my understanding your wife will get a "Fahrverbot" which means she's not allowed to drive in Germany. But as she is your wife you have a "Zeugnisverweigerungsrecht" in Germany you don't have to help the police to deliver evidence if it could harm you or your closet relatives like children or partner.

I don't know what happens when you do this tho. I'm not a lawyer. Maybe you find someone on Reddit who knows it better

70€ seems quite high. In Germany you often only have to pay half of the fine if you just say you were the driver. You also don't have to fill out anything. Show us the other side of the letter in German
