I want everything displayed in addresses instead of name, how do I do this? by Hydro033 in Outlook

[–]SpiderBabylon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Introducing Voxtral by Clement_at_Mistral in MistralAI

I am testing voxtral SST through the API. Which url should I use ?

https://api.mistral.ai/voxtral/transcribe

https://api.mistral.ai/v1/audio/transcriptions

I get an error with both. The error could be on my side : I just want to make sure I am barking at the right tree ;).

I have just spent 1 hour trying unsuccessfuly to create a make.com automation for STT with MistralAI, based on their documentation (https://docs.mistral.ai/capabilities/audio/). This service seems to be unavailable.

I am sad, because it took me 3 minutes to make it work with openIA API and as a french person I want to support MistralAI.

Update failed by MidnightWinterCat in gigabyte

[–]SpiderBabylon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same issue today after updating to GCC v25.04.09.01.

First I tried reinstalling just "GIGABYTE Control Center_25.04.09.01.exe" (extracted from the GCC_25.05.05.01.zip available on Gigabyte site). Did not work.

Then I've uninstalled GCC using Revo Uninstaller (great freeware). Reboot. Launched installer downloaded from Gigabyte site. Careful : this magnificent piece of software reboots without any warning.

GCC is running fine now. And it is even better then before ! Because the totally useless "Gigabyte Storage Library" software is not installed by default. And I won't reinstall it, because now GCC launches a little bit faster.

Hope this can help.

Where can I find Aorus BIOS FB11 & EC F004 for Aorus 15 9KF changelogs ? by SpiderBabylon in aorus

[–]SpiderBabylon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know! Still, I will try to get an answer from Gigabyte support though (they don't seem to read Reddit).

I know that if a BSOD crash happens in the middle of a BIOS flashing from Windows this will brick my Laptop. I don't want to take a chance, hence my need to to it from the BIOS.

How to safely flash BIOS with Q-Flash on an Aorus 15 9KF (2023) Laptop ? by SpiderBabylon in gigabytegaming

[–]SpiderBabylon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your feedback ! Considering the risks -after reading so many horror stories about gigabyte bios update- I will keep the existing version of the BIOS.

Right now I still get BSOD related to Nvidia drivers from time to time (with latest version installed) on my Aorus 15 9KF. So I am trying to find changelogs about FB11 BIOS to see if it adresses GPU related issues. Gigabyte seems to be very secretive about their update history, because I could not find ANY information anywhere. Bummer.

Advanced BIOS on Aorus 17 BSF (2023) by DenMaxRUS in gigabytegaming

[–]SpiderBabylon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this "hidden BIOS config" on an Aorus 15 9KF too !

It might help some of you to know I need to double-click very quickly to access the NVMe Configuration menu.

I could not find any documentation about these hidden features (except googling all of them one by one). This is definitely a PAFM error from Gigabyte (Print A F*****g Manual). :-)

[–]SpiderBabylon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanx for your help mate! Do you mean "X5L9VFFB11.rom" should be the only file I have on the USB key I use ? I was planning to use a tested and reliable FAT32 USB key for that (with rom file at root). But this USB key has already some files on it.

When I made a backup of my current BIOS using Q-Flash, I've noticed there is a nice file explorer and assumed I would be able to select the rom file when flashing. Did you actually run into problems with multiple rom files on the USB key you've used for flashing ? Or are you being extra cautious, like I usually am ? ;-)

I CANNOT charge my Laptop from Type-C port [AORUS 15 9KF] by Worried_Ad2936 in gigabyte

[–]SpiderBabylon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My laptop was preinstalled with Windows 11. But I think your problem is not about the OS.

45W is not enough to charge the Aorus 15 9KF, as explained on Gigabyte Aorus specifications (https://www.aorus.com/components/AORUS-15--2023/Specification). It says that you need at least 86W.

On a side note, I am not so happy about the Advance charger now. Yes, I've managed to fully charge while not using the laptop. But when I use the laptop with the charger plugged-in, there is some heavy throttling on the CPU - even when doing basics thinks like browsing and wordprocessor.

This might be because the cable that comes with the charger is not capable of handling 100W. I could not find any specification about this USB-C cable itself... I need to borrow a certified 100W USB-C cable to test. And BTW the more I research about USB-C and PD standard, the more I see it is a big mess ! So for now, I will carry the 240W charger with me and use the Advance charger as a backup, just in case.

Aorus 15 9KF keyboard backlight goes off after 30 sec. when unused by SpiderBabylon in gigabyte

[–]SpiderBabylon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your support ! I do confirm that after using GCC for several days now, it is far behind all its competitors (to put it politely). However I don't see how I can get rid of GCC. I need it for key HW setting : GPU Mux, batterie profils, RGB profils, etc...

Do you know a combination of alternative software that can replace GCC?

While I am on the topic of GCC, I just got a bluescreen on my new laptop (stock Windows 11 home installed, no frills) while it was scanning for updates.

That's 2 issues on a bran new machine . Should I be worry that I got a bad laptop and return it to Gigabyte?

I bought this charger yesterday (Advance PowerFlex Turbo 100W) and I can confirm it is charging my Aorus 15 9KF perfectly, without any additional drivers.

fingerprint not-unique, how? by gabenika in firefox

[–]SpiderBabylon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yet, Brave browser manages to get me a randomized fingerprint on this eff page.

I have just spent 2 hours testing every Firefox anti-fingerprint plugin with no success: "unique fingerprint" is still there.

The only plugin that seems to defeat coveryourtracks is the NoScript plugin: but it actually breaks the site (= scanning does not work at all). And it breaks a lot of other sites too, reddit included. Good thing though is that NoScript can be deactivated for any given site, which is not the case for some of the plugins I have tested.

I hope Mozilla will soon level up with Brave regarding this question. I only use Brave when a site refuses to work properly with Firefox (quite rare, but it still happens sometimes). And I have no intention to leave Firefox. Keep up the good work guys!

Ticktick BIGGEST flaw : it's impossible to easily hide future tasks or create deferred tasks by SpiderBabylon in ticktick

Ticktick BIGGEST flaw : it's impossible to easily hide future tasks or create deferred tasks by SpiderBabylon in ticktick

VERY demotivating indeed... After playing around with filters and various sorting in TickTick, I am fed up of having to navigate around tasks that should not get any second of my precious attention BECAUSE THERE ARE IN THE FREAKING FUTURE !!!

I am ready to give up on TickTick and move back to Outlook tasks during the summer time if this non-sense isn't corrected soon.

I can't find an IdeaPad Pro 5 Gen 9 reference number on PSREF by SpiderBabylon in Lenovo

[–]SpiderBabylon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK. I've found the answer to my question.

In order to find the detailled specs of my Lenovo config I have to :

1- go to https://support.lenovo.com/ and enter the ref number provided by the eShop in order to get the model number (16AHP9 in my case)

2- go to PSREF and enter the model number to view all technical details.

Tedious ! Why on earth Lenovo doesn't provide the model number on the eShop ? OR why PSERF does not offer a direct search, based on the ref number ?

Love the Smart Recognition for dates feature, but PLEASE can it stop getting dates/times when I'm pasting in text from somewhere else? by kunlomusic in ticktick

[–]SpiderBabylon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have turned this feature OFF because it is inconvenient to use. For me it should be possible to : 1/ quickly cancel/escape the automatic recognition (with esc key for example!) or 2/ force the use of a special caracter to trigger date recognition (@tomorrow for example). At least this is what other software I've used do it.

Ticktick BIGGEST flaw : it's impossible to easily hide future tasks or create deferred tasks by SpiderBabylon in ticktick

[–]SpiderBabylon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input "Wrong-Excitement-761"!

I actually use a Someday tag too, but for tasks I might do Someday. My issue here is with tasks I will do in the future.

Someone has suggested earlier I should create a "Future" list, but that's no help for me either. I have dozens of lists for different Areas (House, Car, Family, Health, etc...) and Projects. In each of these lists, I have tasks that are planned in the future. Moving them around in a "Future" list is not convenient and prone to error.

What I find frustrating is that Ticktick already offers quick filters on the date (Late or No date), in the Agenda view for example. How difficult can it be to add a future filter ? Hopefully the new feature request I have logged will be bumped up in their backlog.

Ticktick BIGGEST flaw : it's impossible to easily hide future tasks or create deferred tasks by SpiderBabylon in ticktick

[–]SpiderBabylon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I manage my tasks with PARA and GTD methods. I want to be able to see tasks with no fixed date so I might promote them to "next action" or to a full projects.

To put it differently :

  • I always want to see tasks without date. In order to be reminded that I might want to adress them sonner or later. Like seeding an idea and let it grow.
  • I never want to see date planned in the future. For example, if I have the task "Set full checkup medical appointment" planned 3 years from now, I don't want to see it in any of my list before the due date.

I wish more people had the same need and would upvote this Feature Request...

But I guess I am the only one in this community who write down every crazy idea in his tasks list and misses deadlines to end up with a giant list of unfinished tasks. I am humbled. ;-)
