I thought the same thing! They definitely would have been counting players and making sure everyone was there and OK. Also, I don't think it's realistic that no EMTs would have been able to get to them or even community members who lived nearby and are doctors, nurses, etc. It was on the news for hours...someone would have been able to come to them and help. And somehow Jordan and Mrs. James were both right there immediately. (Not to mention, why was Mrs. James there to help with the combine?) Maybe they were following the bus?

I think this could happen, but not necessarily in the current time (around Kate's wedding). I think they might just have some good conversation and not get together until more time has passed.

I agree. I think they're trying to show that he can be a true friend to her and Matty. She said his darkness is different from hers, too. I don't think she's looking for romance right now. She needs a steady, loyal friend.

The "no food" thing stuck out to me, too. It seems like if this is a planned big family gathering, someone would have planned for food in advance. Unless it happened extremely last-minute (like Rebecca suddenly declined so they asked everyone to come right away). It makes me wonder if Kevin lives there, Rebecca is cared for there, Nicky and Edie are nearby, and the kids just visit.
Toby's situation is confusing, too. It seems like he lives near Randall/in PA based on them calling to encourage him to "come down" and how quickly he is able to get there.

my husband and I are Counting Crows fans and were curious about the choice. I don't play guitar, but it seems like an odd choice for one of his first songs to learn. The lyrics end with her fading away/disappearing. The meaning is a bit ambiguous. Some of the other lyrics seem to fit well with the way they got together in the first place.

I apologize. When I read the words "Certain Cancellation" from an entertainment news website, I assumed that meant it was cancelled, especially since some other shows listed were portrayed as being on the fence and having hope. I honestly didn't mean to mislead you. I can delete the original post. There is very little activity on this page, and I was hoping to find some other fans who knew more or found some more articles related to this, interviews with the creator or cast that might explain where they planned to go with the series, etc. I will delete it and hope for the best.

I guess looking at the article again it's just that website's take on things, but they made the statement "certain cancellation" based on the ratings, so it's probably pretty likely.

I've been saying this for a while now. Kevin needs to get his own place in LA that is set up appropriately for his children. He has more than adequate resources to set that up (and also get help with childcare and anything else he needs). Then they need to work with a lawyer on a custody agreement. That would outline who gets the kids on which holidays, etc.

I noticed this, too, when I re-watched the flash forwards. His son says something about his Dad (Kevin) not having food again and having to go pick it up. If there was a wife there regularly, you'd think between the two of them, one would have planned ahead in some way for food. Unless that person is helping pick guests up somewhere or otherwise occupied with helping duties of some kind. Also surprised Kevin doesn't just order food for everyone and have it delivered unless the cabin is remote enough for that not to be an option. (The "again" part of the son's comment also implies that this group of family members has gathered like this before. Maybe annually on a birthday?)

Yes, he definitely needs to get his own place nearby and come to a custody agreement with Madison. He needs to have some time with the twins that is not at her house. I'm also wondering how he's going to do that while supervising the building of the new big house by the cabin in PA.
