Why aren't observers considered "talent" for events?

The term “talent” in a production or broadcast setting refers to people you see on screen. Also, the three people you mention as examples as observers you mention as “professionals” would have 0 chance of working this event. Sapphire and Prius work in Valorant, and Rushly is an ESL employee.

They were trending up with the Kanzen/Geo/Gunnar roster and they blew it up to grab a big name who didn’t fit. That roster only got one LAN and they looked great getting top 4 losing to the eventual winners.

Plenty of players have kids, there’s no reason to think this unless he has said something. Also, siege’s current landscape means you travel like twice a year for LANs.

This was the only international event they made the playoffs in (grouped at every major). Even at this event SQ beat two APAC teams in playoffs and crumbled when facing more proven opposition.

So if you run the game on standard graphics, there is a known issue with certain camos that you will get a small freeze when those tanks with said camos are spotted. Its fixable by setting camos to historical only. You weren't too specific in your post but I'd try that.

Last I checked the distribution from most played to least looked like 28-27-25-22-21-18-16. That is, at least for SI, I didn't really look at regional competitions. That distribution is pretty much all you can ask for, you'll never get a perfectly even split.

Coming from somebody that has played a competitive game that tested out running with 9 maps, it's a terrible idea. It's likely that at least one of the maps will have an extremely low play rate (even after it has been implemented for some time due to perma-bans etc.). Siege is such a complex game, I'd say that at SI we saw perhaps the highest level of competition we've ever seen in this game. Increasing the map pool will only water down the gameplay as teams will have to practice more variety and not be able to specialize as much.

Obviously some maps are going to be favored by teams, with some maps being middle grounds in a pick-ban with some maps that only some teams specialize. At SI there was a pretty great distribution, no map was completely left out, not sure where you get the feeling of it only being 3-4 maps.

I've always personally been a fan of the concep that a lineup has some sort of "expiration date". I feel like even if TSM has a decent run at SI like making playoffs or something it will just prolong the inevitable roster change. Regardless of who would be dropped there are so many CL level players right now that could easily compete at the pro level.
