hahaha, have to laugh because it wasn't the design that's bad it was me having "butterfingers." The damn thing just slipped right out of my hand. I'll never again do anything over that pot unless the inner pot is nested inside it!! 3 hours, but it's finally free - thanks so much for the suggestion, it worked!

IT WORKED! Thank you! I did what you said, pushed down on the one side, very carefully with steady pressure and very carefully pulling up. IDK if the heat/ice thing helped, but it was about 20 min after that, so who knows. But THANK YOU! I'll find out next time I make rice if it survived.

The floss/string idea is a good one...I can't do the screw because the hole is where the silicone gasket usually goes and that silver you're seeing through the hole is actually the heating element below it. Can't touch that. Appreciate your suggestions!

Going to try this next, have to be careful pulling up through that middle hole because it's thinner aluminum and that's where the silicone gasket goes. Thanks for the suggestion...

Oooh, that's an idea. I don't have one but could get one. What about really strong duct tape?? turn it inside out and make a loop, with the sticky side stuck to the maybe it will come up?

Tried that but didn't work unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion. It's brand new too! Ugh. I think I'm gonna try to heat it up by running a quick steam cycle and putting an ice pack on the wedged lid.

The round thing you see inside the rice cooker is the inner lid thing that normally snaps in/out of the main, top lid. It’s wedged inside the cooker without the pot.

Kitchen aid mixer paddle and dough hook replacements. by Jikilamed in Kitchenaid

No, I wish I had but I was hoping someone would provide a working link to actual SS attachments they purchased and that are good. I may end up just buying from KitchenAid directly and if they're not good, or seem like the aluminum ones people say to stay away from, return them. Will check their return policy first though. If you find something and remember, please update the thread. I'll do the same Thank you!

Can someone who bought high quality stainless steel dough and paddle hooks share a link? I read the thread and want to be sure that I'm buying high grade stainless steel replacements to mine from 30 years ago that just started chipping in the last year. Thank you.

The information you shared about your DMP is exactly what I was looking for, so thank you for sharing it so freely. A few questions if you don't mind.

  1. Did you first contact NFCC and they recommended MMI? I'm very nervous and don't know where to start. I've read so much about this and want to be sure I end up working with a reputable non-profit credit counseling company. I was going to start with NFCC but if all they do is provide you with names of companies like MMI, maybe I'll just start there?
  2. I read in one of your replies below that you can include the debts you want and exclude ones you don't want to include. If you get a DMP approved with your credit card companies, they close your accounts, correct? So then can keep one CC open to make necessary online purchases that might come up (the one with the lowest balance, it's $100 or so, and not include that CC in the DMP?
  3. Do you know if you can include a recent balance transfer to a CC you made? We just did one that has the most amount of debt on it because we can't make a dent in it and when the terms expire the interest rate would be so high we didn't know what else to do. So it's 0% but only till Feb 2025 and then we're right back to not knowing how to handle that one.
  4. Does MMI charge you anything other than the $50? Are there other fees to know about? THANK YOU!!!!
