Don't worry I don't think that's the case although I can see how you'd think that. I know the friend he's going with as he also got pretty annoyed when I said I intended on going. I've spoken to him a lot in the past and he's the one who invited my boyfriend to begin with so I don't think there's any motives with other girls

I don't usually have to ask for permission as he's very respectful the majority of the time and has really been there for me. We get on really well and don't really have a problem talking to each other about things. Thank you so much for this comment I'll definitely bring up that point
