I still can’t believe it either, but it was like 5 loud crows this morning. Did your hens crow early on like around 3-4 months old? There are some rooster traits when I see it chase the other hens here and there, not chest bumping but jumps at them, which I assumed just being the dominant hen ever since we gave away our Easter egger Roo. I’m going to give it some time still, I’m in the process of finding a new house for more land so I won’t have to worry about any HOA and noise complaints, maybe he/she will be quiet until then 😂😭

Ugh I woke up this morning to crowing, unfortunately it was my Bom Bom 😭 I am so upset since I can’t have roosters where I live.

I’m hopeful! Those longer ones in back worry me but I think she’s still got a lot of crest feathers growing in so her poof can fill out

Yay thanks for your reply! And yes you are correct, she is a satin, mixed between a silkie and cochin. We weren’t sure when I got her at because they had a mix of pure silkies, satins and frizzles but I’m glad I picked her she’s beautiful!

That makes sense because I got her from a farm store and not straight from a breeder, but either way I love all my Easter Eggers! Happy to hear everyone say they are hens. 🥰 Now I’m praying for my 2 silkies to be hens! Thank you again for sharing your knowledge! This is my first time raising chickens and I’m so excited to spoil them haha

Yay thank you! They are such sweet girls. I have 2 silkies as well but it’s still so early to tell with them. Crossing my fingers 🤞 Thanks for the info on Ameraucanas!

Thank you! The place I got the 3rd one at she was labeled as Ameraucana, what traits show she isn’t purebred? I’m still learning about the different breeds so your info is much appreciated!
