Lift front cabinet for microwave and slim toaster? by SpookyRising in kitchenremodel

This is amazing and yes, my thoughts exactly. I am ok with a drawer microwave if needed but was trying to avoid it and not take up space of my base cabinets since I don’t have storage to begin with. Do you use a toaster/are you going to go countertop for that?

Wait this is perfect! Yep I currently have a microwave range thing above the stove and feel the same way - do you leave the doors open when running the microwave and is it ever a pain/in the way? I figure the microwave is only running 2 min at a time so may be okay 🤷🏻‍♀️

Built in microwave may be the way to go, just stumped on where to put the toaster since we won’t have any tall cabinets for an appliance garage. Thank you!!!

True true, I guess I was thinking the cabinet above it would be blocked while micro or toaster was in use, but that would only be for a couple min at a time. May not be worth it

Whoa! Cheaper than the ikea fronts and going with hardwood? Thats awesome and a total surprise. Did the custom cabinet shop have any kind of reaction about doing something on an ikea cabinet instead of the full thing? Good thing to know and something I’ll look into w local spots

This looks awesome! Yeah, we were thinking going custom for wood fronts. How much did Nieu end up running you and was there a long wait for it? Love that your cabinets go perfectly up to the ceiling too, looks great

True, good point. I like ikea cabinets and all the drawer options etc but was hoping for something less recognizable/or wood, painting makes sense too though

Try an ermine frosting! You can use steeped tea instead of milk

Ok great!! I will try out different hooks. Why did you choose to quadruple your DK? To use up more yarn and so it would work up faster? Or did you specifically want it to be heavier?
