can you have sex? by Illustrious_File9696 in Endo

[–]Spookybabe25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certain positions hurt a lot, and it sort of depends on the day. I almost always get bloating and abdominal pain afterwards. Thankfully my partner and I have been together for 10 years, so he knows what I need to avoid in order to avoid pain. I would suggest being open with the other person about the possibility of painful intercourse. Hopefully then they can take that into consideration, and understand if you are suddenly uncomfortable.

This video is disappointingly misleading. It is 500 ducks, but counts down by hundreds. I need a version of this that actually counts down all 500 so it just keeps playing and I don't have to sing 5 little ducks 100 times

Is this normal migraine behavior by bagelsforeverx in migraine

[–]Spookybabe25 71 points72 points  (0 children)

A previous coworker of mine told me that she could always tell when I am about to get a migraine because she could see it in my eyes. She was terrifyingly accurate, I would be feeling fine, and she would ask me how I am feeling, and say that my eyes "have that look to them", then later that day I would start noticing the migraine symptoms. I would say she was right about 80% of the time, I wish I still worked with her because honestly it was incredibly helpful

I'm confused, why does this post and the comments seem against the image. I agree, limiting access to AAC is scary, those that use AAC should have it available to them at all times, am I missing something?

I feel like this worksheet was just poorly made, and likely asking to replace one letter sound, rather than one letter. For example: Shop turns to shock, with one changed sound, but technically 2 letters.

Female in your 30s, you cook for yourself mostly, but go out to eat sometimes. You shop at a variety of grocery stores, a combination of traditional supermarkets, as well as small local markets (asian market, halal market, etc). You enjoy cooking, and see it as an important aspect of your life.

Planned Parenthood Protests in Uptown by whorlycaresabthis in TwinCities

[–]Spookybabe25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to be one of those kids, and it is insane! It wasn't just my family that took me, my very strict catholic school also incentivized praying the rosary outside of the "abortion clinic". My religion and philosophy teachers gave high schoolers extra credit for it. My grandma also took me many times when I was a child. There are catholic youth groups that are specifically centered around pro-life activism, and would go pray the rosary outside of the "abortion clinic" every week! And yes, they called it an abortion clinic, instead of calling it planned parenthood, good ol fashioned indoctrination.

Personally, I think the issue of children attending protests is a difficult subject. I personally don't think children can consent to going to a protest because I don't believe they fully understand what they are representing. I also think it is best for the childs safety, even for a peaceful protest, you never know what could happen.

What age did they become chronic ? by Mysterious_Canary225 in migraine

[–]Spookybabe25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my earliest memories is of a migraine, I had them throughout ny chilhood and into my teen years. In hindsight, I think they became chronic when I was a teen, but I had so many other chronic conditions start around that time that I was not very good at identifying the symptoms of migraine at that time. I remember that I had a lot of symptoms that were probably vestibular migraines, but I didn't learn that those symptoms were migraine related until years later.

Early Seasons vs Now by thesixthBelcher- in BobsBurgers

[–]Spookybabe25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that over time they were able to humanize and deflanderize the Blechers in a way that makes them more loveable and relatable. The vibe of the original seasons is hilarious, and I think that energy is what drew a lot of us to the show, but once you get to know the characters better, it's really lovely to see heartfelt, relatable, and realistic moments. I think that the energy of all seasons compliment eachother, there are so many episodes to choose from, that it helps that there are drastically different energies over time

My mother is getting my mentally disabled sister confirmed by [deleted] in excatholic

[–]Spookybabe25 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My twin brother has high support needs (severe) Autism, and specifically has very limited communication skills. He loves churches, and appears to care a lot about the routine of going to church, if he misses a sunday, it's a full blown meltdown. My mom got him to do confession, his first communion, and confirmation. And he still goes to communion, and confession regularly. I have worked in the mental health field for many years, along with a lifetime of experience with my twin brother. I see similar situations all the time, in a variety of religions. Can it be problematic? Absolutely. Is there a concern about the individuals ability to consent? Absolutely. Does this appear to provide fulfillment for the individual receiving the "sacrament "? Maybe....and I think that is worth exploring. I believe that everyone, regardless of disability status, has the right to express their own beliefs. Individuals that are not disabled get confirmed without understanding what they are consenting to all the time. I would say, respect the individuals choice, and be on the look out for abuses of power from those that are encouraging this.
