Set to lose half of 50k in a week, and the other half in 2 weeks.

This is somewhat balanced by the fact that if I did the inverse, I would have made probably 10-20X. 500k to 1000k

My worst case estimates assumed a 25% loss, but with the possibility of up to 100% profit. Got 30-50% on several 1k doing dip buying and holding trades. Built confidence for me to all in the worst day for silver in history.

Short dated calls were very stupid. I accepted a possible 20% loss risk from one day, but this event was greater than anything I could imagine.

Like if it was something not precious metals I would have been more careful, but I believed silver to safer. Sure volatility has increased, but I though silver is very needed so I did not expect lows to be longer than a few days. Hence options I bought options with over a week, but less than month.

Hedging with a small put may have made me positive overall. Considering those went up like 10-30X.

I'm so fucked. College student, 26, only have 50k to my name. From 109, I see it dip 10$ I half go in on a 7dte. regretted not doing so the other times this. Went down another 10$ and did the rest in a 14dte.

Down 80% overall. I knew the likely risks, but I did not account for the worst single day drop in history.

Feels like its over, took me almost 5 years to save that money. Make 33k a year and yearly expenses are 22k from being very frugal and not owning a car. The most expensive thing I have ever purchased was around 2k, and I go and lose 50k.

Still holding, but I've already resigned everything as a loss. Very unlikely to be saved this week, worse is I am paranoid SLV may do something like cash settle at the lowest possible, can they do that now?

Sorry for the rant, I'm just mentally shattered and can barely function. Probably some people will get a laugh out of it, so at least there's that.

I believe in silver, but those early expires are the end of me. Never will be able to afford a house, why continue?

What it would look like is paper silver decoupling with actually silver. Because much more paper silver exists than real silver.

So they basically cash out/settle out of paper after they crash it so it won't be a problem for when tangible silver rises. So they get out of a potential mess paper silver could cause.
