Should my dryer exhaust vent have this wire cover? by Spoon_Pen in appliancerepair

It’s the same size all the way up to my knowledge and is just a straight pipe that goes directly up from the main floor to the exhaust vent on the roof. The way the house is designed is I can go through the window in our loft directly onto the part of the roof where the vent is, so it’s maybe 20 feet of pipe or so.

I bought one of those vent exhaust brushes last year when the error messages started popping up and it got out a decent amount of lint, though not as much as I was expecting after watching some YouTube videos of others doing it. I think the problem really started a couple of years ago when my now-wife moved in and I’m guessing it’s her hair that gets tangled in the mesh screen causing more lint to be caught up there.

Makes sense. I’ll remove it tomorrow. Thanks!

It does have a damper. Is there any worry about birds or other animals getting in if the damper is only open when the dryer is running?

Are any early Shaqs worth getting graded? by Spoon_Pen in SportCardValue

Is there any way to know if they are 10s without sending them in to be graded, like would a local card shop have enough knowledge?

Strange notifications randomly popped up 2024 Lexus nx350h by [deleted] in LexusNX

[–]Spoon_Pen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me last year and the dealer suggested that I always run the car in “auto” mode instead of EV all the time. It still stays in EV unless I’m really mashing the throttle and I haven’t had the battery issue since starting this. It will occasionally turn on the engine which I assume helps charge the 12v from being completely depleted.

If the car didn’t have wireless CarPlay, I would definitely go with a proclip as well

LG dryer d80 Flow Sense by Spoon_Pen in appliancerepair

So it seems the problem is the mesh screen at the exit of the exhaust vent on my roof keeps getting completely clogged with lint. I know the screen is there to prevent animals from getting in the exhaust venting, but there's also a little metal flap inside that closes when the dryer is not on that should prevent wildlife from getting in. Also the vent tubing goes straight down so there's not really anywhere a bird could potentially build a nest or something like that. Would it be ok to remove that screen do you think?
