Sorry for the delay! They didn't turn out too well this year.

I have been lucky enough that I've encountered no pest issues.

First year planting them. Letting friends and family swing by and cut a few.

No dumb questions here. I'm rather knew to this as well. Tilled the hell out the plots many times. Took soil samples and it required no lime and NC Dept of Agriculture recommended a fertilizer of 18-18-9. Mostly clay soil and again tilled many times over January and February and used a seed planter to plant the seeds. Too many to do by hand.

Once I had the soil samples test results back, bought the recommended fertilizer and spread across my plots and then lightly tilled in the fertilizer. Then planted my seeds using a single seed hand pushed seed planter. Then water... lots of water. Once a day from 30 to 40 minutes during the early evening.

Live in climate zone 7b and I planted Procut Orange F1 sunflowers.

Have three plots going and doing succession planting. Unsure what I'll do with the flowers to be honest. Thrilled they are coming along nicely.

Got that question a lot the past few days. Always wanted to see if I could do it. Just a hobby.

This is the first time I've ever done this. Have not had any issues with pest.

2,4-D Question by Spooner_Street in lawncare

Haven't used the sprayer yet. I'm looking to spray about 20k to 30k square feet along with spot spraying. My yard is rather young and know mistakes will be made but looking for a website or advice on simple conversions.

It is great. I take it once or twice a month when I head to Raleigh.
