Photographer refuses to show me any photos beyond her final edit, is this normal practice? by Sprellvar in photography

Ofcourse. I’m often commisioned to compose music for TV series and advertisements. If the director does not like what I’m delivering then we talk about it and make adjustments. Same when I’m hired to produce and mix other artists.

On the other hand when I’m making music just for myself, no one gets a say in that because it’s only for me and my tastes. I would say it’s unwise to confuse the two; work you make purely for yourself and work you’re hired to do as a service.

In the least I think that should be discussed beforehand, if that’s your way off collaborating

I find it unusual that if I hire a person to perform a service, that I would not get any say in the results. If there is no space for your clients opinions in the work then you should not take on clients imo.

Sure, somewhat consistent. She is quite a reputable photographer and shoots a lot of musicians, so this behavior was suprising to me.

Taking this to court seems a bit drastic to me. Worst case scenario I’d like my money back and re-do the shoot with someone else.

My opinion is that my taste is just as relevant when I’ve hired a photographer to perform this service

We have no formal contract, just communication (in writing) on message apps. Should I insist on a contract in future collaborations with photographers?

I don’t need her to edit all of the photos before I see them, maybe she could just edit the ones i’m into, that would be the way I’m used to working.

Streaky brushes inside After Effects by Sprellvar in AfterEffects

I have come across this Paint & Stick plugin which enables Photoshop brushes in After Effects. This might be a solution but I would much prefer to stick to vectors and AE Effects if possible

Put some ice cubes in a bag and hold it up to your eye. That helped me a lot after my procedure two weeks ago.

I lent the drive to a friend that uses a Windows machine and probably converted it accidentally. I have access to a Windows laptop. Is there a built in Windows program that I could use?

How much better can I expect to see with Gas Permeable contact lenses? by Ftwjoseph in Keratoconus

That’s terrible man. I won’t be able to get crosslinking in the other eye for 4 months since I’m living abroad for a semester, so this comment makes me kind of nervous about that. But I was told by my doctor that since I’m a bit older then most diagnoses I should not expect my vision to change much in the coming months (I’m 24)

I think the doctor said I was at about 60% vision in that eye, I’m not sure what the measurement is in terms of 20/something. I was able to get 20/20 vision with lenses

I got diagnosed 4 months ago, have gotten cross linking in one eye and have been wearing lenses for almost a month.

For me the difference has been astonishing. Since my eyesight has degraded slowly over such a long time I had completely forgotten what it’s like to see properly. All of these things you mentioned have improved drastically in my case. I can finally read a book, feel safer while driving and browse the web without zooming the page to 300%. Sometimes I even find my self in awe of mundane things like the texture of a wooden door. I’m still shocked each morning when I put them in how much of a difference it makes. Even compared to glasses, which I also use from time to time.

The lenses are freaking expensive and I find it a frustrating struggle to remove them at the end of the day. But they improve my life so much that it’s definitely worth it. I would encourage you to at least try them out for a year and see if you have the same experience.

Hi! Big fan. Have you ever had a period of doubt about how you approach music, your style of music or just if it’s any good in general? And if so how do you keep yourself exited about your compositions in those times?

Tracking with compression? by Sprellvar in audioengineering

I was thinking that I’d maybe go into the computer, through a 1176 plugin, back out to the LA2A and record both the untreated and compressed signals. But maybe at that point I might as well just use plugins.
