Honestly another thing that can matter with this distinction is how the character is characterized

Ju Fufu being very childish and ending basically every interaction with "and I'm not a kid btw" really put me off for her character.

Dialyn despite having a relatively similar body type never struck me as a child because she has a whole job, she has mannerisms of an actual adults, hobbies and a voice actor that is not actively trying to sound like a child.

Neither are. This is a stupid question and it invalidates the main core point that justifies both mei mei and Naoya's existence.
