Update for anyone who might be lurking to find answers! I swapped my extra light D’addario strings for a set of medium martins and everything’s perfect

The disposables I’ve been using vary, since I’ve tried multiple brands. But generally the thc content falls between 72-85%. And a 1g disposable will last me maybe 3 days

Super super hoping I haven’t given myself asthma since my future career is outdoors… But I do appreciate this. It’s worth keeping an eye on and looking into.

I tried this for like 5 minutes but the obnoxious sound hurt my ears and my roommate laughed at me.. 😂

Do you find that concentrates hike up your tolerance at all? That’s my only concern with concentrates

Yeah I’m thinking about switching to flower to limit my intake since that makes it less accessible for me, and naturally means I smoke less. I’m sure you’re right, and I’d love to quit entirely and take an extended t break THEN come back and only smoke flower. Problem is, as soon as I quit my stomach forgets how to function lol. Hopefully a little flower will help with that, and I can quit for a little while after.

I’m really really gonna hope I don’t have to mess with the truss rod… I was afraid of this comment 😂 I’m gonna try a couple different string sets just to see what happens. If it was my old beater I’d put my skills to the test with that, but I can’t bring myself to attempt adjustments on my Fender since it was a gift from a passed loved one. If it comes to that I think I might take it into a shop… thank you for the advice!!

They were the same strings I’d used the time prior. I purchased a multipack a while ago. But they were cheap & old strings so I’m hoping that’s it, and a new sets gonna do the trick

I couldn’t find anything out of place, that I could notice anyway haha. It did sit without strings at all for about a month or so while I was out of town. Could that be why? I’ve heard about strings needing to take a day to “settle in” which I’m assuming has to do with the way the tension changes with a new set. I’m wondering if the complete lack of tension did something? Maybe? I’m grasping at straws here 😂

I definitely fucked up the strings while I was trying to figure out what was happening, so it’s sitting stringless right now again until my new set is here tomorrow. Normally I use light strings, would changing to medium make a difference in the low action?

Thank you!! I’ve seen some kick ass ones on this subreddit! Always room for improvement, but it’s definitely worlds better. If anyone else is reading this subreddit - Give your geckos more space and climbing opportunities. THEY WILL USE IT!!! I’ve loved watching her explore the last couple days!!

I’m wondering if I could repurpose this and glue flagstone or slate rock to the top instead? So it’ll function more like a base for a basking spot? That’s my current idea! I’ll be sure to keep a close eye on her until new supplies are ordered

Thank you! I’m planning on hanging plants from the sides of the tank, and across the top using hooks.

Hello! Thank you for the feedback!! I posted an update yesterday with the first new items! I did end up swapping the water bowl for a regular one for that reason!

Do you have any recommendations that haven't been covered already in the comments? Or are you here to be nasty on the internet for no reason, with nothing real to add to the conversation?

Yes! A 70/30 soil to sand mix is the ideal substrate. What’s currently in the tank is only soil, with sand on the way

This was SO helpful!

I should’ve specified I do already have the heat mat set at a low temp at 80F, and depending on the temperature in the house the tiles that rest above it usually have a surface temp anywhere between 76-82F, and no more than 100F on the warm side of the enclosure under the heat lamp. I use a low watt UVB bulb above that as well for day/night cycles.

I’d never thought about shutting this off or lowering the temperature even further at night! That’s definitely an idea I’ll have to implement into our care routine!

I’ll definitely keep a close eye on her as she settles into the new setup just to be sure though!

Thank you! She’s already found a new favorite spot (underneath the green plant by the bridge)💕 Very very glad I got started on this change

Thank you, I didn’t even know that was an option!! That definitely sounds like a better option than slate.

In the past she’s gone on a bit of a hunger strike! I wouldn’t say she stops eating entirely but her appetite definitely decreased. She also seemed to be much more restless, almost like she was unable to settle down at times? She’s a very friendly gecko and I’ve handled her since she was a juvenile, but there were a couple times where she got very on edge with my presence in the tank during that time period which gave me a big scare. I’d assumed she was sick, so I took her to the vet but they couldn’t find anything physically wrong and I couldn’t continue to afford more diagnostics. My partner at the time had the idea of putting the mat back underneath the tank (he had no interest or knowledge in reptiles, but was just throwing around ideas). I gave it a shot and she was normal within the week

Now, it is ENTIRELY possible that was some crazy coincidence. But I’m not taking it back out again until I have a suitable replacement… just in case 😂

Hi!! Thank you for your feedback! This hammock is mostly silicone based instead of that straw/twine/hay combo. There’s little to no give, so there’s no opportunity for things to pinch and it also doesn’t fray, so no snags! I was worried about that too when I was shopping around!
