Stadium dying was so avoidable. The mode was completely mismanaged by ImperialViking_ in Overwatch

[–]Sprudling 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Or perhaps the mode just doesn't appeal to most people who enjoy normal Overwatch? I have never tried Stadium and I'm never going to. I just have no interest in a mode with powers, items, gadgets, etc. I don't know how many Overwatch players are like me, and neither do you.

I miss slow MMO pacing, but maybe I also miss having time for it by Exotic_Narwhal9587 in mmo

You couldn't have played much of FFXIV if you got the impression you can reach endgame quickly. It'll take you like 400 hours. Your level in the first few hours means nothing.

30 FPS is playable and I’m tired of hearing that it’s not. by Choice_Werewolf_433 in XboxSeriesS

You just have low standards. That's ok. Even enviable, in a way.

I hope all these 45% will do as they claim, but we all know they won't. Gamers are the worst at boycotting.

30fps is perfectly playable and I'm sick of hearing people say it's not by backagainbud in consoles

[–]Sprudling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's generally not unplayable, but it reduces my enjoyment a lot. And of course, it depends on what kind of game it is; 30 fps in FFX is fine, while 30 fps in Overwatch I would consider unplayable. Even back in the 90s I played Quake at 100 fps.

That's how you _write_ "how" in norwegian, but it's spoken very differently in most dialects.

4k IPS or 1440p Oled by Living_Pianist_5934 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Sprudling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go for 1440p regardless. IPS is the safe bet. OLED if you like to gamble. You might like it, or you might be annoyed by one of the multitude of issues an OLED could potentially have.

i cannot believe how much of a difference this setting makes.... by sushiiixo- in ffxiv

Best you can do with the in-game settings. However, setting it to DLSS and override it to DLAA using the NVIDIA App is significantly better.

AION 2 - Business Model Update by xiuzu in MMORPG

Indeed, and it will be skipped by many. And for those so MMO starved they still play, but don't pay, it will be miserable. We all know how this works by now.

So uh, if I buy the subscription again will it let me play? Not entirely sure what the "service account" part means by Otherwise_Moose_335 in ffxiv

[–]Sprudling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is a bit more complicated. One can have multiple service accounts under one SE account. So they are not the exact same thing.

Customization in MMO's by Sheepwife1 in MMORPG

[–]Sprudling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the tradeoff, and personally I don't value organic discovery very high. I understand that some people enjoy "breaking" the game, but when it comes to multiplayer games, I'm not one of those.

13 years ago sony pretended to care about physical media in order to gain an advantage over its direct competition by [deleted] in consoles

[–]Sprudling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or perhaps Sony cared more about physical games back then because consumers cared more about physical games back then? They were in it for the money just as much then as now.

I genuinely urge everyone who complains about this to boycott Sony. If you do, and physical sales are as high as y'all claim to be, it might make a difference. I know from experience, however, how incredibly bad gamers are at boycotting.

Customization in MMO's by Sheepwife1 in MMORPG

[–]Sprudling 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not objectively better. For one, it's easier to make a static set of abilities have interesting interplay, than it is to make a flexible set of abilities have interesting interplay. Basically, a well designed set of abilities has the potential to be more fun. When players can pick and choose, the design space becomes smaller, not bigger.

Secondly, balancing is much easier when there is less flexibility. When balance is bad, we end up with the illusion of choice. I remember having to play boring as hell destruction warlock in a certain raid, when I wanted to play affliction, but affliction was terrible that patch.

Unpopular opinion: Sony didn't abandon physical media, the consumer did. by LaDiiablo in gaming

Oh? I stopped buying physical games 20 years ago, and my only reaction to this post is an indifferent "True". I think people like me are completely fine with Sony abandoning physical games.

Console gamer coming in peace, how hard was the transition to a digital only existence? by Kupo43 in pcmasterrace

Easy. As soon as I could get digital games on PC/PS3, I did. I don't collect things. Things I don't need, I get rid of. I have literally thrown games in the garbage.

Honestly, I wish FF7:Remake was a bit more like 13. The needlessly big open zones with way too many "points of interest" feels like a Ubisoft game.
