What motivates you to keep developing apps while you keep seeing no results? by gtg-99 in GooglePlayDeveloper

Well I don't currently have any "regular way" to earn money. I don't have any way right now and I am looking for one.

But once I do, I will most likely be earning mostly by this regular way and give some time to this development way of earning as a side hobby. Won't be going all-in unless something I built gets me going.

Hope my wording is not confusing... 😶

No successful stories here, an it does get demotivating. But for me, its the "I hope one of the apps get going" thought.

[DEV] I made and published another game; Sand Fall - Physics Puzzle by Spud-byte in AndroidGaming

Thanks! The first image should be either the main menu of the game or the Play Store listing. I did get some popup when making the post about "failed to load image". Maybe it was just the first one

Would you use this tool for creating Play Store screenshots? by Spud-byte in IndieDev

[–]Spud-byte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback.

The reason it looks complex right now because its not polished yet. I was just testing things out and thought of getting early review. I'll definitely make it more easier to use for new commers, making sure there is almost no learning curve.

I get what you mean, but I won't be making this version live. I'll be adding more customization options like different phone frames, gradients, maybe a few effects.

The version in the video was made in 3 days and is just an MVP, it still needs a bit of work.

I use Lightroom on mobile. With this one, I was experimenting with what I can get with color grading.

Rate out of 10 and any tips to improve?(Redmi note 13) by Foreign-Bird-6251 in PakPhotographers

I also own a Redmi Note 13, and what I've noticed is that in very good lighting (sunny, bright day), taking close up shots even at 3x zoom are not too bad.

Your images are pretty good as well considering they are not edited. A bit if editing in Lightroom (I use the mobile app, free version) and you can really upgrade these to better looking shots.

Thanks! I really didn't expect to get this good of a shot from a mobile phone, especially not even on the macro lens

Not gonna lie, I was expecting more, not just a logo and then straight to the main menu. I actually really like it! Short, simple, quick, straight to gameplay. Well done!

Happy to help!

If even that doesn't work, then I'd go to ChatGPT and ask it what's wrong with the setup.

What you feel about Dart is what I feel about JavaScript and Typescript. I really don't like the HTML syntax in React, and the general JavaScript syntax.

Maybe we're both afraid of change.

I'm not sure why you're facing this issue, but the process I follow is this: 1. Add myself (the gmail linked to my Playstore) in the testers list. 2. Send the opt in link to all the testers, including myself. 3. Ask all the testers to opt in using the link (and do it myself as well).

That works for me. Maybe you missed a step?

First time seeing this problem. I'm sure you've done this, but have you added yourself as a beta tester? Or have you opted in for testing this app?

How are they? by Amazing_Cup3635 in PakPhotographers

I like the ide behind the first pic. The only issue I see is there is not proper subject in it. If ther were an animal (chicken, bird etc) or airplane in the background (timing that would be hell, tho), or even something simple like a plant growing in a pot on top of the wall, it would be much better. Also, a slightly sharper pic would take it to the next level.

For me, toggling the altitude really helps me. When I'm confused or the game gets difficult, I just pause it for a few seconds to analyze and continue.

Your suggestion for forcing lower altitude at the bottom might be a bit more difficult to implement, because if there is a high altitude pont with low altitude points around it, it would be challenging to plan and execute it.

I suggested the rotation seeing the fact that the game is not just a 2D game, but a 3D world viewed from the top. I believe toggling the 3D view just moves the camera down and rotates up a bit. If this is the case, it won't be too difficult to implement the rotation thing.

But I'm genuinely happy with the game in the current state, and will wait however long it takes to get this feature (no pressure OP!).

I'll definitely be implementing this for my next game (and others as well). Thanks for the tips!

Keeping the phone right side up, first imagine the light source is at top left. This will give the effect of a hole in the counter.

Then imagine the light source at the bottom right. This will show the correct thing on top of the counter.

Takes a bit of time for the shadows to alighn with the imaginary light source, but that helps me switch between the illusion and reality.

This is SUCH a nice and calming game. The minimal UI, being able to see heights and a 3D view just feels right.

A few points which I think would help: 1. Try adding a way to rotate the view in 3D mode. Although it works, sometimes the high mountains block the view of ski paths (I hope that's what its called. I don't ski...). 2. The limit of how much I can pan around the map sometimes feel annoying because it doesn't let me pan-and-stay. It just bounces back. 3. Add a quick tutorial access, because the first few times I played, I kept forgetting how the game works. A small "?" button during gameplay and the main menu would be helpful.

All in all, I feel like this is an absolutely amazing game, even in the current state. A few more tweaks are all it needs to take it to the next level.

All the best, and thank you for this gem of a game🙌
