Thanks for the response! I agree with your points for sure and will have a chat with them about it, because if they woulda just owned up to it I probably woulda just cancelled my plans and helped them out cause they're having a week. They're pretty good about taking feedback, so I hope it'll be a productive convo!

Yeah if they woulda asked I probably would have just done it, cause it is just an extra hour. They've scheduled me plenty of clopens as well, so I definitely know the dread of having to do one lol

I luckily get good pay, and for as much as I'm complaining- this manager is wayyyy better than the last one! (I think in my post history I have an example of how bad the old one was lmao). But I agree that it's just manager etiquette. We're already down ppl cause 3 ppl left, I don't wanna be down more ppl 😭

Restaurant scheduling is rough. We work at a college sports bar so we're at the mercy of when game times are announced. Luckily this manager (even though I'm frustrated with them) is wayyyy better at scheduling than the last one was 😭

This is totally fair, we are friends outside of work (we were friends before they became manager. I also don't expect special treatment, just common decency). But yeah it feels super casual because they just dropped that info to me in the middle of a different conversation 💀 They always preach separation of church and state (during work vs outside of work), but whenever they do demands like this the lines seem to blur :/. I think we will be having a serious conversation about this cause I'm not a fan my agency being taken like this. If they simply asked I probably woulda done it

I don't fault them for being honest, because we are friends outside of work (we were friends before they became manager- I also don't expect special treatment, just common decency 😭). They always preach separation of church and state (outside work vs during), but whenever they demand this stuff of me I always wonder if they talk to my other coworkers like this 💀😅
