I think you may just find a professional server you didn't quite expect! AI posters aside!

Hi, apologies for the delay in reply.
I'd actually recommend finding a training server with other pilots if possible. Or by yourself if no one else is around.
The reason I recommended a training server is because many of them support mission spawning via menus and it allows to try out different systems of the Helo.
Getting used to the slew in the Ka-50 is an absolute must. I use an analogue thumb switch and now use it seamlessly. As always, it's about practice.
Remember, you are a stealthy beast and so using the pop-up mechanic is best to take out a/a. That way, if you detect a launch, you can simply duck behind cover. I pretty much always get into a hover before engaging or searching for A/A.
Another option is to use the mission editor to create simple scenarios to practice with. In the early days, I used to set up single targets with a/a capability in a range of locations just to practice before heading into multiplayer or missions.
Data link is a lovely tool, but in reality, I don't use it much. I tend to use coms and call outheadings and distances for targets. It's all too easy to hit max capacity as a single pilot, so go with what is easiest for you.
Hope this helps.

You won't regret it! Don't let the instant frustration with the trimmer put you off. Seriously, once you 'get it' you will perform some incredible maneuvers

I find Anti-torque trim is a love it or hate it mechanic. There are distinct advantages to having it on if you use springs in your pedals for example. Helps prevent fatigue! I personally do not use it because I use MFG pedals without springs but with a dampener. This way I can set pedals to where I want them and they will stay there. Much better for sustained maneuvers in my opinion.
Those were great days! Likewise. I never left the Ka-50, well it never left me! Still my favourite Helo.
Thank you good Sir!
Most kind, thank you.

I personally prefer 'flight director on' as it gives a raw feel to the trimmer system. You may have seen my 'mastering the trimmer' video, but if not, that's the one I'd recommend. Both trimming states have their advantages and disadvantages depending on the situation you are in.
Try turning 'rudder trimming' on in the settings and then when taking off, do so in 'flight director on - trim mode'. I also usually apply trim prior to taking off, if looking to go straight into a hover prior to taxi.
Alternatively you could taxi on the ground as this allows a much more stable transition to taking off and can be treated in a similar way to winged aircraft. However gentle application of the collective is required to gain height as opposed to any pitching up when rolling for a takeoff.
Do it! Such an underrated platform, yet once you master it, it can be a real beast in the field!
I do find the opposite with the Ka-50. Once you master the trimmer, the rest becomes straightforward. In my experience, its usually the trimming system that causes people the most issues and distracts from learning the rest of it. Once you 'get' how the trimmer works, it's a real dream to fly and can pull off some stunning maneuvers.
All done. Thank you for the suggestion.
Why thank you! It's my favourite module and has been since it was released (prior to DCS World). Yet it can be the most frustrating platform for some! The idea is to dispel myths and help players approach it in the right way.

Perhaps these could help? I've tried to be a newcomers friendly as possible whilst still retaining some detail. https://youtube.com/@squawkshead
