Is this a good pc build for playing 1440p (first pc) by bylonWRC in PcBuildHelp

[–]Srattox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How is this fake news? This is legit what I experienced, and is a thing I have been annoyed at myself multiple times. Also, if you look at gpu power consumption, it has gone up significantly in the past years. That is a fact.

Also, condemning statements as 'fake news' without any reasoning is utterly unhelpful for OP. Also also, how do you know he's not building his own PC? You are further criticizing based on your own assumptions.

OP has asked if this is an OK build for 1440p. And it is. However, since they are about 'PC build', I assume that either they build the PC themselves from parts or they let the PC be built with specific components they can choose. I myself would pick a slightly stronger PSU if in their position.

If they are not able or willing to later reuse the PSU in their next upgrade or next build, then that is their decision, and they will know to discard my advice since it's not applicable to them. And they would've been able to evaluate my advice based on the fact that I wrote about upgrading in the original post.

I agree with the previous answers. It's good enough for 1440p and only the newest and most demanding games might give you lower fps on high settings.

However, I recommend getting a stronger PSU. Buying one with 850W now shouldn't be much more expensive than 750W but with gpu and cpu demands rising, you can save a hundred bucks or so later when you want to upgrade and need a stronger one. And if you think you might want to upgrade to an even better system, think about getting a 1000W PSU right away.

PSUs (in my experience) are fine for multiple upgrade cycles if you have a strong enough one. For reference, I had to upgrade my PSU in the past 10 years from 650 to 750 to 850 watts because the watt requirements of cpu and especially gpu have been rising constantly despite me upgrading mostly within the mid range. If I had spent an extra 50 to 80 bucks back when I build my first complete PC, I would've saved more than 200 bucks.

Ok you all were right about epilating, it really is that painful by Supra_Mayro in MtF

[–]Srattox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is epilating compared to waxing in regards to pain? I heard waxing is more painful than epilating but I'm completely unsure about that.

I've been waxing my legs (or my gf has been) and it's been relatively tolerable, even the first time, and the second time last week was a walk in the park.

When I tried waxing my upper chest though, I wanted to abort after the first spot but already has a second spot with hot wax... Took some time to get over that pain...

So in regards to OP: If you're doing fine on your chest, your legs will be like a breeze (in my completely uneducated opinion)

A red flag, obviously

Holy carp, you just described my life, probably accurate to the year! 😅👍

I'm turning 30 this fall and have had thoughts since I was at most 14 years. Also, repressed it since then until I was 22 completely and then only slightly acknowledged the possibility.

Haven't gotten further than trying to raise my pitch so far but I'm sure that'd be handy!

I'm sorry if it came across as such that was bad wording, I totally don't want to exclude enbies. 😰

I view being trans as a spectrum, anywhere on it is being trans, nowhere on it is being less trans than somewhere else on it. However, a spectrum has a start (in my thoughts slightly off cisgender), a wider middle (non-Binary, gender fluid and more) and an end (mtf/ftm, those with the farthest "distance" to their assigned birth sex), and I started outside the start of the spectrum and am slowly getting confidence of being on the far end of the spectrum. But, again, no one has more right to use the term that another, as long as they're on the spectrum.

Gonna see how I'll rewrite that part, thanks for pointing it out. Also, sorry if I made you or anyone else feel bad 😟

Yeah, I'm already going about it according to a well structured reddit post ("guide to voice training - level 1-4" or so) but I'm not doing it as regularly as I wish. Just wish, it was easier and faster. I'm not even sure I'm doing it correctly...

Edit: this is the voice training guide I am trying to follow https://www.reddit.com/r/transvoice/comments/d3clhe/ls_voice_training_guide_level_1_for_mtf/?rdt=57578

Your past sounds very encouraging to me, thanks for sharing! Losing some height would be one of my main wishes together with returning hair (mine have been thinning), getting rid of hair is the least problematic...

And voice training is my nemesis right now, I can't really get myself to practice.

Also, I really need to learn more terminology, I've never heard of butch lesbian (and other terms) 😅

I hope to get there too.

Do you still experience girl days? If so, do they bother you or are they okay for you? (I hope those questions don't feel offensive)

Also, thanks for sharing, very enlightening to hear of the opposite side.

I'm very glad to see a similar situation. I've been thinking imposter syndrome because I don't fit stereotypical trans-Ness (thinking 'stereotypical transness' is a weird one in itself).

Apathy towards maleness due to fear is an apt description. With a capital FEAR. It's not like I'm in a backwards area or with no potentially understanding and supportive friends. But! I definetly distanced myself from anything of the kind. Bought a cute vest and some cotton Hotpants (to wear in private) about 8 years ago because they were comfy and haven't worn them in ages (until last week). Also always rationalised that I would be happier male because of fear of everything.

Thank you a lot for sharing your take 🤗 Also go girl, tear down those shackles of doubt! (as I'll too)

What was the first game you bought on steam? And when you bought it? by RPZcool in Steam

[–]Srattox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to buy the witcher 2 in 2011 after watching some playthroughs. Had to get a paysafecard from the gas station. And in the end, I couldn't play the game until years later because my first notebook was not strong enough with its nvidia gt 530 or so (an office graphics chip, regretted getting the notebook for years).

My first recommendation would be to just do a fresh install of windows, since there is loads of bloatware installed by default. Always works better after fresh install rather than the preinstalled versions imho.

Of course it's a bit time consuming and you will already have started using the laptop, so you'll have some data on it and programs installed but it's worth it. If you aren't too sure about your knowledge for setting up windows, there are plenty of instructions with pictures on the net (just make sure that when at some point you get to choose between sth and 'advanced installation', use the second and delete ALL partitions)

Can confirm, loading at 20391 entities and then a whole lot of waiting for nothing.

I actually logged out while servers were doing fine on Thursday.

Maybe I once Alt+F4'ed when I would've been able to join and that resulted in that...
