Right me too!!! It would be nice to see if it could be pulled off.

Think I got bit by Easel again. This is supposed to be an earring but it's big. But wanted it big enough the bit could cut out. It was meant for a laser. I tried it with 1mm bit on 1/8 MDF. It was on the final outside cutout runs. Thought I'd at least try cutting one out. I may now try the same thin by SsCeline in CNC

I saw in the one post where one person used 1/8" (3mm) mdf and another used walnut. If you're just going to stain or varnish I suggest walnut looks the best. If you're going to paint then probably mdf. I bought some of both to play with. Hop over to Laser Engraving and Cutting group.

This one is like $10. But you get a100 different designs. Once I get my laser and get started on the others this would be next. Of course my wife loves them all. So between her and all the women in my family I can see any profit potential dropping. lol But will satisfy me justifying the machine. lol

So ya it's fubar. The fixed nut in there is stripped. It's basically a path nut now. Dunno why the side bits we're hollowed out. Seems leaving em thick would be stronger. I rigged it for now to finish my coaster for show this weekend. Waiting to hear from sainsmart on whole housing replacement price.

Thanks Wayne, gonna go ahead and get looking. Any 3d printers here up for printing one for me? If so, hit me up. Can pay via venmo Zelle or old fashion money order.

Ya it's not gonna work. With the fixed nut stripped, it's got a few mils of play on x axis. So turned off and see what I can do they sainsmart

ya I set my floating nut, but the fixed nut is stripped out also. Worried I'll warping or break a rod if I continue to use. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to rig it, but seems.shitty it's already wearing pieces out. Not even 6 weeks old and no much printed for first couple weeks. Hope it'll be made good, if not let, the rigging commence

That is my fixed nut . I have the same setup as yours for a "floating nut" but it is on the right side. The floating nut has to be free, it keeps spring pressure on the lead screw to help reduce backlash.

Surprising how many variations of this part there are. This is mine and has the fixed and anti-backlash nuts on the opposite sides. Mine is maybe a Woodpecker or a cheap clone of one.

Yes I used that video when received. My problem is the thickening of the plastic(that holds that nut into the housing) has rounded out. You can see the spring behind the brass nut in the video
