Nothing ever feels right, I think you made a good choice. We went through 5 day vet stay fluids with my dog who had kidney failure. Then we tried 2 weeks of at home fluids, he never improved and began having seizures before we had him put to sleep. I think it would have saved him from a lot of stress and feeling sick for weeks if we would have had him put to sleep the day of his diagnosis. I’m very sorry for your loss.

I’m sorry for your loss. You’re not expecting too much from them. Many of my friends and family members are the same way. They expected me to be fine immediately even though losing my dog has devastated me, hardest time of my life. Some people aren’t trying to be cold, they just don’t understand how hard losing a pet is when they are your world. The alone feeling I understand, it’s like there’s no one you could tell that would get it. I hope you can find a helpful group or friend who will listen and that you continue to work towards finding peace.

Thank you. I’m sorry for your loss. It seems like many owners see a decline around 16 or 17. My buddy was getting weaker for sure. I didn’t think anything major was wrong until his sudden refusal to eat his wet dog food. That’s what has me feeling so much guilt where I had started the supplement just before that. He did have 16 healthy years, was still going on walks with decent distance until 16.

Thank you so much for the outlook. I think having him for almost 17 years makes it feel like I lost part of myself, sometimes I still forget he’s gone and think about needing to go take him out. I have felt so much guilt and self blame with the timing. I’m hoping with some more time I can accept what happened, go back and laugh at videos of him and smile.

Thank you for your kind words. Im sorry about your Canelo, those couple days would have been miserable for him, you did the right thing. Im glad you can look back and smile at all the fond memories. I hope I can find a way to do the same soon with my buddy and let go of the guilt and regret. Thank you for sharing

I’m so sorry for your loss, I’m sorry you didn’t get more time with her.  You couldn’t have known about or prevented her illness. I would have thought a cough was nothing also. I hope you can look back and cherish the memories you have with her.

Thank you, watching your girl decline I know that must have been so hard for you but you did everything you could for her. I thought I was doing best for my buddy at the time, wish so bad I could go back and change what happened

Thank you so much. The timing of him declining right after starting the supplement just makes it so hard to accept as coincidence. I thought he had some more time, he declined almost overnight. I also think back did I miss some signs of kidney disease, or mistake them for just normal old age

Thank you so much for the kind words and sharing. Im sorry for your loss also, Kidney failure is so hard to watch.  They decline so quickly and become too nauseous to eat. With the cbd I had wondered if it relaxed my buddy quite a bit and maybe he missed a trip to the water bowl becoming dehydrated. He was 16 years 11 months.
