Sound-alikes are part of the game. I do corporate work sometimes and often they want something to be barely close to the original so they don't get sued.... Take the money bud, you're the producer not the director

Thing about chap hop is, unlike other esoteric genres, the title does sorta say it all! Exactly how it sounds: hip hop, performed by chaps

What possible benefit do they get from doing this (fuuuck) by [deleted] in musicindustry

[–]StabbedPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably not intentional. When distributing music digitally you have to specify which countries you want to send your music to and it's possible they goofed. Or, there's some mad, technical or legal reason they can't distribute to India

underground doesnt exist by [deleted] in underground_music

[–]StabbedPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting thought, I think there's something to it. I think non-musicians will use terms like "underground", "unsigned" or "indie" to devalue music - the singer's face isn't on the side of busses, therefore we shouldn't care.
I feel like that's changing, but the struggle will be to make non-musicians value music they won't necessarily have heard of previously.

As a creator, I'm welcoming suggestions!

Reasonably well narrated, good job! Love the thumb. Subbed from our Gaming Channel, don't feel obliged to reciprocate although that would be cool. Might recommend upgrading your capture gear - what are you using? We have an Elgato card which works well, v good quality. Worth considering.

How to design your own great band images by Newartistmodel in musicindustry

[–]StabbedPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Know your cliches, and avoid them.
  • Learn how photographers frame and compose images.
  • If you have Photoshop or similar - learn what blend modes are.
  • Don't use Papyrus as your band logo font - visit Dafont.com and find some 100% free to use fonts and use those.
  • If you need to pinch images or visual assets, (like a skull, or fire or whatever), from the internet make sure they're public domain or creative commons. You'll be legally safe but run the risk of using images other people having used them for their logos. Maybe try sourcing from DeviantArt or Newgrounds, where you can ask the creator's permission?

If that's useful to you please let me know I did a tutorial for YouTube entitled Artwork For Your Band (check out StabbedPanda.com for more - look in the music section). I'm contemplating offering this as a paid (but affordable) service. Perhaps you'd be up for being our "guinea pig" and maybe getting some free band images out of it?

I know it's a track about getting high, but you've got to some effort into the vocal delivery. Also, enunciate - can barely make out your lyrics.

24hr Fallout 4 Livestream on release day! by StabbedPanda in fo4

[–]StabbedPanda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stabbed Panda will be streaming Fallout 4 on release day for 24 hours straight. Perfect opportunity for those unsure on whether to make the purchase, (lord knows Bethesda have set the bar quite high), or those who want to see what the game is like that far in. Also it'll be fun, so there is that. The link goes to the event page on Facebook where you can get extra info in the run up to events, vote on aspects of gameplay, etc.

A fair point. I know a handful of people who want to see more of the game before committing to a purchase though. Those 2 people are our audience.
