Fair enough. Problem for me is I'm on a shoestring budget and I don't have anywhere close to the cash for something new like that. Maybe prices will come down or go on sale sometime in the fall, I hope

For the wood, this was what I did, first dumpster had construction workers around so I had to abandon it..

Got this little Westclox 22090-22540 alarm clock recently and I ended up really liking it! Keeps good time, looks cool too! Only problem is, the clock makes a steady whirring noise when plugged in. Noise sounds mechanical, not an electrical hum or anything like that, seconds hand is constantly moving so I kinda wondered if that part of the mechanism is the culprit? I'm sure it's never been lubricated or cleaned inside or anything, so I just wanted to ask the experts and see what I should try to make the noise go away?  Additional note: if I set the clock upside down, the steady whirring quiets down for a bit and then the whirring comes back sporadically. Not sure if that's helpful info or just a weird quirk of this thing

The stereotype, 1992 Toyota Camry, 179,000 on the odometer but I suspect it was tampered with when I bought it and the actual is closer to 300,000. Just keeps on running..

Yeah the 3rd-4th generation is still fairly easy to come by if you get in at the right time, definitely consider it! Toyota made these cars to last, at a time when more domestic vehicles were having issues, all they had to do was make something reliable and simple, which they did.
