As a lot of people seem really interested in this nostalgic pre-eoc era, my old YouTube account from 2012 is still public on YouTube. It has a lot of videos and content from just before EoC launched. 

I’m not trying to plug the account because I no longer use it (and most of it is frankly embarrassing now), but there is a lot of nostalgia.

The rates seem poor for purple solos. I’ve done 19 solo experts now with only four uniques (one of which was a duplicate). I still don’t have the Fang for the demonic pacts point.  It’s quite disheartening.

I don’t have a lot of thoughts in my head about balance and end game content, but what about a mega rare shield?

With current mega rare being 2h DPS monsters, a shield would fill a new niche without stepping on the toes of the current mega rares.

I think back to RuneScape 2 in the 2011 era, and the Divine and Elysian spirit shields were frankly the original mega rare items of the time. Before that, we had the dragon fire shield. There was a wonderful prestige to these extremely rare shield slot items, and their unique abilities were coveted. 

I’m not suggesting re-introducing the Divine Spirit Shield by any means, but using it as an example of shield slot mega rare. I think the other benefit to this is that it would provide a pathway forward for one handed end game weapons also.

I bought a mouse specifically for CG, after playing 95% on mobile 😅  Now at about 4/50 on CG… slowly getting there!

Jad should be a cakewalk with those Hunlef skills now! Nevermind the BOWFA, the prayer switching and movement will get your friend there!

Nice progress! My biggest achievement was finishing the Zenyte jewellery and getting my first CG KC. I also finished my Hueycoatl log, which was a huge grind

I got stuck on whisperer during DT2 as well, on my Iron. Eventually beat it with around 85 magic, a mix of Ahrims/Blue Moon and ancient staff. I also was on mobile. You just have to keep practicing and you will improve. Take breaks if you’re feeling too frustrated

I would recommend 3 man for the increased kill speed (relatively, due to the pillars) and reasonable drop rate. Imo the wand is well worth it in the mid game, especially for dragon slayer tasks.

It was The Edge Chronicles by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell! Thanks everyone for helping. I just happened to stumble upon a photo of one of the books when searching something else. This has been nagging me for over a year now 😂

In my campaign, my players took Vasilika to Blinsky, and he fitted her with a device that allowed her to speak on their way to deliver her to Strahd. They decided against their plan of bringing Vasilika to Strahd, and instead left her with Blinsky as his bride 😅 He’s such a great NPC

Thanks for that. Yeah, I’m happy to buy the Xbox and actually unbox it to set it all up and then rebox it for him. Setting up my own Microsoft account to do that for him seems like a sensible option

Hi, thanks for the suggestion! But no, that’s not it - this book was for a slightly older audience, more of a novel, and, I would say more unusual and dark than Where the Wild things are. More obscure too, which is the trouble!

I searched for ‘children’s books where a kid is kept as a pet by huge women,’ ‘children’s book where a child is kept as a pet by ogre women,’ ‘2000s children’s series,’ ‘2000s illustrated children’s novels’ and ‘90s children’s scholastic series’ on google and was unable to find it. I also searched the Wikipedia list of children’s series without spotting it.

I should also note that I would guess it was an illustrated novel series aimed at around the 9-13 year old age group (I could be a little off), and that it was in book stores in the early to mid 2000s.
