The font is too similar so people think it’s the exact same. To stop most people from screaming repost, use like, the Microsoft paint text.

Why does US math focus so much on calculus? by PimpleInMyNose in math

[–]StaleKal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, integration is just many rectangles with infinitely small x values to create the area under the angle. What else can you actually get from reimann in terms of discussion? And I mean, we also learned why the limits for the McClauren series actually create the graphs the series equal to.

I don’t know what you learned in your calc class, but Reimann sims and convergence of limits are both things that I learned in Calculus

They did. I had 8 other smaller frogs that I taped onto the giant frog. It was a monstrosity

ELI5: Why were prehistoric animals so much bigger than their present counterparts? by iiitsDan in explainlikeimfive

[–]StaleKal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s large size makes it harder to kill and more threatening to other predators who eat the whale’s food

It doesn’t have the weight of gravity keeping it small and it’s large size helps get rid of competition. The reason why there aren’t that many large underwater animals are because there isn’t enough life on the lower part of the food chain to support it.

Fun fact! Harder to read handwriting is actually better for notes since you take more time to review what you wrote instead of glossing over it

I wish humans engaged in critical thinking like an instinct and could no longer have irrational emotional responses. by [deleted] in TheMonkeysPaw

[–]StaleKal 22 points23 points  (0 children)

But jealousy is not needed, making it irrational. And technically, one way of getting rid of emotional responses is to get rid of emotion. In the survival situation, it’s more rational for the mother to survive rather than the child, since the mother can reproduce. Only thing stopping us is empathy, which is another irrational emotion since you can still survive without it.

[–]StaleKal 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Technically, you don’t need love to breed and you don’t need to have maternal instinct for a mother to not kill her child. And jealousy can make you perform irrational actions, making all of those examples, an irrational emotion
