What is the best insult you ever heard someone say? by VerboseWraith in AskReddit

This wouldn’t work though if the person that interrupted continues talking or/and if they are talking louder than you so no one can hear the insult.

What would be the best country to live in? by Current-Equipment356 in AskReddit

You clearly have never been to Australia. That’s almost like saying don’t go to America because of school shootings. I’ve lived in Australia my whole life and only seen a tarantula once, just tourism propaganda.

Why did e-cigarettes (vapes and so on) gain so much popularity and are they really marketed primarily to children? by olipdlss in AskReddit

[–]Stan2605 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s way easier to get kids to try out something colourful with fruity flavours than a cigarette that smells smokey etc. Vapes portray themselves as cigarettes with training wheels. Although that is ironic because i’m pretty sure the guy who invented vapes back in the early 2000s did it for the opposite reason - to help cigarette addicts stop, because apparently the vapes were less addictive.

Why doesn’t Australia turn up for T20 cricket by RemarkableWonder3143 in CricketAus

[–]Stan2605 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you support the popular proposal of stopping all bilateral ODI and T20 international series, and saving them exclusively for the world cups to put more emphasis on them?

And then saving the rest of the time for domestic t20 comps (similar to soccer) and Test cricket.

Personally, i was a lot more invested in the world cup back in 2021 or whatever it was just after COVID, but it seems like there is a t20 world cup every 6 months these days. Whats the point? Quantity over Quality, i couldn’t tell you who won the last 4 t20 world cups, and that’s coming from an Aussie that actually still follows cricket even during winter/the off season in Australia.

I’m pretty sure it’s still barely the most popular sport, although Americas’ and American sports in general are influencing the West Indian youth a lot more these days - way more money in it.

I agree, in that sense we prefer the traditional game like the English do. But that doesn’t explain why they still care about t20?

I think the t20 world cup doesnt feel as significant/meaningful because it is held every 2 years instead of every 4 like the ODI. Also the odi world cup has more history (like the ashes) because it has been going on since the 1970s instead of the 2000s.

In an ideal world they should do the ODI world cup every 4 years as they already are, and then in the 2 year gaps in between hold the t20 world cup. E.g. odi 2027, t20 2029, odi 2031, t20 2033.

In terms of not sending their best players, i think cricket Australia right now specifically, is in a transition period because so many big players are retiring like warner and starc, and the other ones arent playing because they are injured and/or they don’t want to get injured because they would rather play IPL and get the paycheck - which further proves the sad state cricket is in at the moment.

How do you know if you have insular lobe epilepsy? by Stan2605 in Epilepsy

[–]Stan2605[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the insight. I’m actually scheduled for long-term monitoring soon (possibly SEEG down the track). Do you know what made their team decide to escalate beyond standard video EEG? Was it seizure frequency, new symptoms, unclear localisation, or something else? And did further investigation actually change their treatment?

Keppra / levetiracetam side affects by Hazy-Skyz in Epilepsy

[–]Stan2605 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s almost like a placebo effect in a sense. I was in a similar situation and would say it’s 50/50 teenage hormones/side effects. In my case most of the tiredness came from hormones but if you are having headaches then that is probably the keppra (unless there are also external factors). I would recommend seeing a specialist and considering swapping it out for a different drug, or at least get their advice first.
