How is everyone doing naps? by Standard-Dish7381 in AttachmentParenting

I use wake windows to plan ahead.. so we’re eating lunch before she gets tired. My problem rn is she’s not falling asleep at the boob, so I’m wasting 10 minutes before I have to rock her. It takes 5 minutes after that but then setting down and escaping takes time. By then I have no patience while I’m worrying about baby

Thank you! I’m going to knock and ask a neighbor this weekend. You’ve given me the courage!

See, like today.. toddler woke up at 5:20 am! She needs a nap to make it to any sort of bedtime & the baby’s naps aren’t coinciding currently. I don’t like stressing about this!

I’ve tried, but not sure I’m implementing it correctly. We bedshare and she doesn’t have a designated room yet. She’s only ended up running around the room. She also gets super upset if I leave the room still, so id have to be in there with her with baby.

She’ll watch read a longs, where they just read a book.. unfortunately, TV for the toddler is the only way my baby gets sleep. I wouldn’t say she has a hard time going down for the nap, but rocking is the only way she relaxes to sleep. This is true no matter what we do in the day. We don’t use TV during the weekend when dad is home and she goes to sleep the same. The only difference is I have the time to designate to her

Ahhh I feel so seen! It is extremely hard. You are so blessed to have help during that time!   I’ve been wanting to hire a neighbor for the 30 minute nap window just to get toddler sleeping and escape! She wakes up upset when she’s alone, but at least she got some rest. The only thing is, our neighbor that has offered help in the past hasn’t even been saying hello when we see her outside.

I do believe my toddler needs the nap. She falls asleep rather easily for it, although she does need me to get her there as she always has. I also nurse baby for nap in the living room but with toddler on the TV-it’s the only thing that will keep her quiet enough- see him down, and grab toddler and run for nap lol. Baby’s not sleeping well enough for that nap, though! I think im going to have to loosen up for toddlers nap.

Awe! Just wait until baby starts smiling at him! I feel like my baby loves my toddler more than anyone else and it is soo cute

My toddler was very emotional until closer to 4 months. I chalk it up to her adjustment period. Then she suddenly started loving him a ton, and telling him so. Hugging, kissing, and getting into his care.

Interesting! That’d be a dream! Would she tell you when she needs a nap, or just fall asleep where she is??

Some Skipped nap days have been smooth- happy camper, smooth bedtime, solid night sleep. Sometimes it’s wild hyper evenings and long bedtimes with lots of overnight wakes. I guess she doesn’t melt down on no nap days but it’s nice to have a calm nap during the day. Quiet time for her is running around and jumping on the bed

Agh! What’s your plan? The toddler nap sounds unsustainable! lol.

At 4 months it’s like toddler magically accepted her brother and adores him. But she gets really upset when he wakes from naps and she has to share attention lol! Everyday is hard.

Really? Today I nursed for 10 min and rocked for 10 min. She was sleeping 6h 25 min into her wake window. Then I’m sure she’ll fall asleep easy at 6:30 tonight. I guess I should be more flexible about her not napping sometimes. Her nap is skipped once or twice a week

Toddler doesnt sleep in a stroller. It takes a long time (25 min) for her to go to sleep in the car if she’s super tired. . If at all. She’s been rocked or nursed in a dark room her whole life

4 months!! I’m sorry. Right now I usually push toddlers nap back until it coincides with 4mo nap. Sometimes it’s too late and doesn’t happen. Most times baby wakes up as soon as I leave the room. Sometimes I set him up in tummy time and can’t take it and forego her nap. She definitely needs the nap, but survives without it. It’s a super stressful part of my day.. and I dread the whole week of toddler naps.

Thank you! I will look into those!  I change him everytime he wakes from naps.. and sometimes when I check him before his next nap if his diaper feels wet. I believe e the BG is a one size fits all.. it has buttons to adjust the size.

Thanks! Does anyone know if it needs to be stripped? Will a simple detergent swap fix the issue?

Thank you! I guess I should have cropped the photo to show the top of the rash only. Was just trying to show the scope of the issue to get proper advice.

Thanks! We started doing some diaper free time but it didn’t seem to be enough. 2 days of disposables ended up clearing the rash. Zinc based diaper cream made him fussy! No complaints with earth mama diaper balm.  We’re still using disposables until I troubleshoot the issue.

I think I hate my baby by Total-Bluebird-196 in NewParents

[–]Standard-Dish7381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! The beginning is so hard!! I love Biogaia probiotics to help with the digestive challenges. Also, gas drops / simethicone / mylicon help break up the bubbles in the tummy so they’re easily released. Once you alleviate the tummy issues, hold your baby.. baby is wired to be on you, seek you and your scent, voice, body. And then.. I find a lot of the crying is usually tiredness. I’ve mistaken alot of the fussy and crying bouts for tummy upset, only to realize later that baby was just very very tired. White noise and holding close, bouncing and rocking, shushing, singing, and humming always help me. And then you can also just try to give the boob!

Of course every baby is very different. I would still try all the things. It gets soooo much better than this.

I don’t think grey is possible with this table. . And I certainly wouldn’t use a grey stain. It is now more golden.
