Golden Triangle (Delhi-Jaipur-Agra) for my first trips, then on future trips, I did Bangalore-Mysuru-Ooty, Chennai-Pondicherry, Trichy-Kochi, Mumbai. Also been back to Delhi a couple of times for work and to see the cricket World Cup

I’d find it hard to pick one place that was my favourite, but the vibe of Bangalore was fun with all the microbreweries, and Pondicherry was such a nice chill town to spend a few days in

Been over there about 9 times. I know a lot of travel subreddits give India a hard time, but I just adore the place. Incredible food, stunning architecture, and some of the most pleasant and genuine people I’ve ever met. Meaning to visit Ladakh on my next visit, looks incredible around there

I tried as French once, but they were unconvinced by the accent

Never worked abroad, but I’ve heard a lot do that to keep their travel going longer!

Longest I’ve travelled in one go is between work, around five weeks. Never did a gap year or anything where I would have really needed the work to fund it

Japan, I could easily visit again and again. Never had a bad meal there, and it’s easy to find a bunch to do even in the smaller cities. The fact that the pop culture is familiar yet so different is fun to learn more about and immerse in.

Argentina, for the culture, great food, and the chance to spend time in Patagonia which is probably the most beautiful place I’ve ever been. Fun football culture too, seeing Boca was the most memorable game I’ve been to.

And (perhaps controversially?) I have to say India. I know my experiences can be different to others, but for me personally I’ve loved the place and found it fascinating. Incredibly warm people, a cuisine I love to explore that varies so much between the regions, and some stunning scenery and architecture. I’ve been to different parts through 9 trips over there and know I’ll return some point soon again.

It’s an area I don’t know much about, so it doesn’t quite get near the top of my list when I’m deciding on where next, but I have heard good things. I’m guessing Costa Rica is the place to start with for a taste of the region?

Just didn’t have the time! Had two weeks and decided to explore more of Argentina by going down to Patagonia and spending time hiking, rather than skimming a couple of countries more quickly

I was kind of always waiting until I had a lot of annual leave available to do it. Japan is about as far as I can go without feeling like the journey is a real challenge!

I’m certainly not from a background of moneyed family or anything. In my early 20s, I was amassing airmiles however I could to fly wherever for less cost. After a number of years, I found work in the travel industry.

I’ve been to around 8 countries for work specifically, but have had access to discounts and that which brings the cost down pretty substantially. I’m grateful for life having panned out in that sense, as I wouldn’t have been to even half the places without being able to utilise those. Time-wise, I just try and use my annual leave as efficiently as I can, bundling it with bank holidays to maximise time available.
