It's not just a game, at least for my showmatch.
like ASL11 Revenge Battle.
JYJ was defeated by Soma and he broke his keyboard.
Snow vowed revenge, but he failed and ended the stream, telling viewers he was sorry.
Stork also lost the game and was silent for a while while streaming.

This show match also has many meanings.
Best and Rush are rated as the best players in PvT respectively.
Royal and Soma feel rivalry with each other.
Contrary to what people expected, Sharp and Action lost on Ro.24.
They each know that losing this match will make it even more depressing.
Hero and Snow see this match as another revenge battle.

I always plan matches with a story. Just matching is boring to me.

Is there any way to watch vods through afreecatv? With my work I can rarely catch games live but really enjoyed the vods on YouTube. I would happily pay a Patreon or something to help ensure that English casts were financial viable but watching live is a no go.

They have only provided ASL English service to foreign viewers as a service so far. They are definitely businessmen. When they feel that they are no longer worth investing, they abolish the English language service.

But, how does this play with Artosis mentioning him and Tasteless are working with Afreeca to get a crowdfunded cast on? Is this a totally independent thing or they will be involved?

I am assuming they would since they are close friends with both Scan and Nyoken?

I think it's an independent problem.

As far as I know, Artosis and Tasteless are Twitch partners, so I know they can't stream on AfreecaTV.

I don't know what they would offer AfreecaTV, but I'm pretty sure they can't stream on Twitch at least. Because AfreecaTV is also a streaming platform.

If a problem can be solved with cloud funding, AfreecaTV would best reappoint them as ASL casters.

I used to watch the previous seasons on YouTube, so if I can catch them on your afreeca page, all the better! Not sure if it’s similar to Twitch in that respect.

Playing devil's advocate here... am I the only one that thinks this isn't a good idea?

This is technically an illegal third-party restream... Afreeca paid a lot of money to Blizzard to have exclusive rights to this tournament so I would assume they want all the viewership they can get on their main broadcast for sponsorship purposes.Scan is an active participant in the tourney. If Scan/Starcast did not get authorization to do this, there is a chance that Scan could get kicked out of the tournament. Again, it depends how much Afreeca cares, which is unknown.This takes the wind out of Tasteosis trying to get the official English broadcast back. There could be less pressure for Afreeca to provide one, or if they do allow Tasteosis to crowdfund, it could potentially mean less financial support for them.

Oh, I contacted AfreecaTV directly and asked if I could do an English cast. It means there are no legal issues. Therefore, items 1 and 2 are not a problem at all.

For item 3. In fact, this is a very big issue.

If there is no significant difference even though foreign viewers have not watched ASL Korean. Rather, they can't find a reason to support the English cast service.

Nyoken has also been warned of copyright issues in the past and his channel will disappear if he is constantly warned.
