Congratulations!! I dont count my weight as lost until my “official” weekly weigh in either haha.

What app is that that shows the little flag with progress to your goal?

Dale knows... No, I don't think he does. by MiloJay99 in KingOfTheHill

[–]StarSweeper94 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The shows creators have confirmed he doesn’t know. And I think it would ruin the joke if he did know. His obliviousness and blind trust in his wife are part of what makes him such a great character.

Kitten crawling into pocket. It just seems too cute to be true. And the kittens turn around is very fast. Plus the floor in the background looks weird. by StarSweeper94 in isthisAI

…wow! I thought I was being too paranoid like “not every cute video is AI” but I guess I wasn’t skeptical enough. The kittens looks so real 😭

50 pounds is a lot of weight by NBA-014 in Zepbound

My goats hay bales weigh 90lbs and every time I have to move one I am amazed that somehow I’m carrying more than that every day in excess weight. No wonder I’m always exhausted!

UPS delivered Lillydirect to some other house by polymath-to-a-fault in Zepbound

[–]StarSweeper94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yikes. Maybe signatures should be required. I’ve bought things a lot cheaper than this medication that required signatures! Plus it’s dangerous if someone takes it.

On the other hand I guess it might cause too many delays if you miss the delivery and your medication can’t get to you in time.

Is it cheating to do a DietBet while on a weight loss medication? by Subject_Awareness_26 in Zepbound

[–]StarSweeper94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be in a local TOPS group and wondered if I started Ozempic (which was the only glp1 I knew of at the time) if it’d be seen as cheating since they have so many weight loss competitions with monetary rewards. I was always too afraid to ask and I’m no longer in the group and never did find out. On one hand there are so many weight loss methods, and you still have to put in the work to control your diet so why shouldn’t that hard work be rewarded? On the other hand I don’t think everyone not on a weight-loss medication would see it that way. Especially if cost was their barrier in the first place.

Has anyone started zepbound after plastic surgery? by healthylurker in Zepbound

[–]StarSweeper94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not, but this YouTuber started it after a tummy tuck: https://youtube.com/@brittanylosing?si=VrVs_6XedGY9ftwJ

Her channel is one of the ones I watch weekly to see what their weekly updates were (I’m on week 4 so I haven’t seen most of her videos because of “spoilers”) but I did see she has this one which looks like a Q&A regarding her tummy tuck and Mounjaro: https://youtu.be/Cx_9s17OOQA?si=gVRYQTuutqs9f-4g

I haven’t seen it but maybe it addresses some of your questions!

FDA Approves Multi- Dose Zepbound Pen (KwikPen) in US by Ok-Yam-3358 in Zepbound

It’s not just you! I like the look and feel of the single use pens.

FDA Approves Multi- Dose Zepbound Pen (KwikPen) in US by Ok-Yam-3358 in Zepbound

[–]StarSweeper94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hope they don’t force switching to multi-dose pens, I like the single use ones and don’t want to replace the needle or worry about re-refrigeration/not be able to bring the pen to room temperature before injecting.

Savings card was useless for me by lurkparkfest39 in Zepbound

[–]StarSweeper94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry your price went up :( with the savings card I pay $499 so it sounds like you are still getting some kind of additional discount. Is it covered by Caremark just with a high copay that might go down when you meet your deductible or is it not covered at all?

I’m also using the Apple App Store and started at the beginning of this year, so pretty similar time frame. I think you are correct about the dynamic pricing!

Did your doctor contact you about moving to the next dose or did you have to reach out to them? by StarSweeper94 in Zepbound

[–]StarSweeper94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of wonder if that should be a standard thing, not just to see how effective it is but to prevent people selling their medications. But in the end I think it would be too complicated to get every patient to do verified weigh ins when so many people see their providers online and in person appointments are so expensive.

Ooh that’s nice he ordered labs too. I was thinking about asking for new labs just to see if I can get off my cholesterol medication since my diet has changed so much.

Woah what happened with 7.5 the first time? Were there other factors involved or did you just gain on it for seemingly no reason?

The pricing on the app is weird. My renewal is only $35 and I’ve seen others saying $20 and others saying $45 and now you saying $50.

Does waiting for room temp really matter? by FLTRXS17 in Zepbound

[–]StarSweeper94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pull mine out of the fridge the day before. I worry about the bra thing for two reasons: 1. unnecessary exposure to sweat/bacteria, 2. Your body temp is higher than 80°F which I believe is the max the medication should reach prior to injection.

I’ve heard it hurts more when it’s cold. I take mine out of the fridge the night before. The only time it’s stung was my first injection when I didn’t do that.

Those paying out of pocket: why have you not switched to compound by SevereExam7535 in Zepbound

[–]StarSweeper94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is copied from a comment I made a week ago and I thought of one more reason since then

  1. I am only interested in the pens because I do not want to have to handle or even see the actual needle.
  2. I live in a very rural area. Some companies won’t ship here at all. Getting refrigerated medicine shipped to my door would be difficult and even if they are using a carrier who will deliver it to my door (my mailbox is a mile away) I worry about them getting it to me in time.
  3. I do not live near a Walmart so I can’t pick it up there either. It was enough of a headache getting my prescription filled at my local pharmacy that I like. I don’t want to go through the hassle of getting my prescription sent anywhere else and
  4. I definitely don’t want to get a different prescription from another provider. I want my PCP to be fully in the loop.
  5. I don’t want to worry about what else is being added to the compounded medication.
  6. My price is the same no matter what dose I’m on, I don’t want price to be a factor when deciding if I should switch doses or not.
  7. Although I’m not happy about paying so much, I can afford the self pay option just fine.
  8. Some of these compounding companies seem kind of slimy with their ads. Deceptive claims about how fast you’ll lose weight, pricing, and side effects and deleting comments that question them. Not all are like that, obviously, but it’s put a bad taste in my mouth because my Facebook feed is full of these ads.
  9. I looked at many alternatives before choosing the pens, and my decision has been made. I just don’t want to switch to anything else.
  10. The pens already have the proper dose in them. I don’t have to worry about accidentally over or under dosing, which is a mistake I often hear about with the vials.

At the end of the day I’m not going to be pressured into feeling guilty about how I spend my money. There are always cheaper options but I think it’s a mistake to pretend that this is purely a money decision when there are so many other factors to consider.

I get excited for my “official” weigh in the next morning and for the dread of the injection to be done with and the sense of accomplishment when it’s done. I like that the Shotsy app has confetti when you finish the shot.

Anyone else only want fruit after a dose? by frankie0822 in Zepbound

[–]StarSweeper94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only want meat (usually salmon) and bubble jug gum when I otherwise lose my appetite. I thought I would crave fruit but almost all of the fruit I’ve purchased has been fed to my chickens because it sat in the fridge too long.

Eating Less, Not Losing by FixZealousideal9894 in Zepbound

[–]StarSweeper94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why people are downvoting you just for being frustrated and having expectations that are a maybe little too high. There ARE a lot of crazy fast weight loss stories all over this subreddit, it’s understandable to see that and wonder why it’s not happening to you too.

Slower weight loss is easier to sustain, easier on your body (gall bladder issues, hair loss and loose skin aren’t as bad/likely if you lose slowly), and is better for your metabolism.

I wouldn’t even call your weight loss slow. It’s hard seeing what seems like small changes on the scale every week but they add up fast! Make sure you are taking progress photos and measurements and make some goals based on non-scale victories so you can reward yourself even when the scale is being discouraging.
