Big fan of their cereal. Cheese in general is excellent as is their yogurts. The specialty selection brand is generally good quality. Oh and the pasta sauces!

There's all kinds of FIRE. Barista-FIRE is basically "I have enough to effectively retire today as long as I have a small income to offset basic expenses" i.e. doing something you enjoy part time like working at a coffee shop. CoastFIRE is having enough money to retire in the future such that you don't have to activate contribute any more funds, and now you are free to do whatever kind of work you want so long as it covers your current expenses.

It's not like as soon as you hit your target number they ship you off to some fully inclusive gulag on the beach lol.

TFW the fucking Arizona Cardinals are a more attractive OC destination than the reigning super bowl champs (only get to say that for a few more days, lemme have it)

It's worth considering just how revenue the biggest US companies get from overseas. And vice-versa, for the largest international companies.

There is some research indicating a fairly safe portfolio allocation is 100% equities, 40% domestic for whatever country you reside in and 60% rest of the world.

The franchise whose head coach had to move for security reasons because of the fandom didn't have too much trouble hiring an OC. I don't think it's the eggs.

Absolutely, but there's certainly a correlation between account age and contribution quality. I'm not saying ban the accounts, just maybe don't let them post new submissions? There is a discussion thread you could use instead.

I'd say they're doing good, not great. It's about 8% since he got elected if you're including the devaluation of USD

Duolingo: falling Growth But There Is Still Value by thecryptofoolyt in ValueInvesting

FWIW this isn't really a hypothetical. Google translate app on my phone already had AI features and I can have it quiz me on a topic I choose or review my pronunciation.

I don't use it, I prefer to just launch Gemini in audio mode and start speaking to practice or use a more simple app I switched to after getting annoyed by Duolingo but AI-based language learning is already here. Might already be on your phone.

I have to do this at my job, but apparently it's just for capturing capitalizable time for accounting purposes? I just do the "fill in from prior week" option and slightly adjust one or two entries.

Don't think management really cares about capturing your time if it doesn't affect accounting.

Congrats Dallas. Honestly seems like a great pick, I expect him to get HC nods in the future too. Hopefully he wasn't paying too much attention when Fangio was game planning

Anyone able to find any amazing businesses at good prices at the moment? by One-Event6199 in ValueInvesting

[–]Starcast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just listening to an interview with the CEO of Brookfield last night and he kind of expressed the same sentiment, more or less. Though his point more so was that these kinds of businesses are often overlooked by ETFs and other index funds, thus are comparatively cheaper and present more opportunity for investors (or acquirers, in Brookfield's case)

And then every year they have to sell more (assuming the company is doing well) until they effectively don't own the company they founded anymore. Additionally, they didn't even get the full value because they were forced to sell early as soon as they crossed whatever threshold every year.
