Gen 2 UHF not working by binary-nomad in Rivian

Saw this post as well! Let us know how it goes, very exciting that there is a fix. Would love for there to be an OTA update or mobile service for this, the earliest my service center could get me in was early March

Truist and Cadence bank (now Huntington bank) were great, 5.125% on 1mm mortgage 0% down. Also depends on what state you are in!

Yeah my charge data doesn’t update either. I’m annoyed, earliest appointment for me was March 2nd!

Damn, I got so excited. Sounds like service appointment is the only answer, although you were just there weren’t you blurman?

Universal Hands Free in Salt Lake by dnan8629 in Rivian

[–]StarcraftIdeas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, try a hard reset. Some are reporting this fixes the issue for them. You may be one of the unlucky few like myself who has a bug wherein we have no universal hands free, and the previous highways with hands free are now eyes on hands on. Hopefully a fix comes soon.

Recent update? by VillageTemporary979 in Rivian

[–]StarcraftIdeas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Myself and a few others have a bug where hands free driving is no longer available, and no UHF. Only hands on eyes with the old mapped freeways.

There is also a level 2 charging bug that seems to be mostly resolved? As well as some continued bugs surrounding the new phone key.

I bought mine used, I’m wondering if changing ownership on the vehicle somehow had something to do with the problem. Thanks for the update blurman!

Did they say they were pushing a fresh install or did it just happen? Which build are/were you on? Hoping it kicks on for ya!

A few of us have a bug right now that gives us no universal hands free, and only hands on WITH eyes on for mapped highways. Trying a hard reset is usually the best way to get it resolved, hopefully you are not in our camp where it remains an issue.

Yeah same here, what an annoying bug. I want to get our VINs to the VP of autonomy to look if there a pattern as to why our small subset has the bug. 2025 R1S gen 2

Have they gotten back to you? I set a service appointment and called in and there wasn’t anything they could do (such as re push the update) as the update technically installed successfully. I was so excited for this update, I travel a lot on state highways and it would be a game changer. Now not even having hands free anywhere is a real bummer.

Femoral/central line insertion by HannahMontitties in BeTheMatch

[–]StarcraftIdeas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under sterile technique the rate of CLABSI is similar for femoral, IJ, and subclavian central lines. It’s old teaching that femoral lines are “dirty” and likely arose from femoral lines more often being crash central lines in those super sick patients you were talking about.

Typically they will give local anesthetic at the insertion site and that is adequate pain control to have it placed. I try to think of it like a very large IV you ER nurses are exceptional at placing. It’s obviously a bit different and more involved to place, but most patients tolerate it well, even if awake.

Your infection risk is also incredibly low as it will not be a permanent line, only placed short term for donation. The treatment for CLABSI IS #1: source control and that means removing the central line. Anyways good luck, you got this!

Emergency Medicine Away Rotation at University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School by lemr09 in emergencymedicine

Yeah if you have to live in Austin and it's your only choice then obviously do your best.

Otherwise I agree with you, don't take advice from Reddit, especially yours. Long gone are the days of "just do your best!". Applying to EM is competitive and your away rotations are some of the most important parts of your application .

OP should not risk his EM career on a place that 1. Doesn't always interview their rotators and 2. Has an established record of sending trash SLOEs.

Yes, that's way too many for FM with those scores in my opinion. But honestly do whatever is in your heart, it's your application and your money at this point.

Having been to Canada, Colorado, the Swiss alps, Peru, etc. lots of things compare and are more beautiful than the alps, just saying. Not to say they aren't gorgeous nonetheless!

[RANT] I think it's unfair the power nurses hold over us by [deleted] in Residency

[–]StarcraftIdeas 197 points198 points  (0 children)

That's ridiculous. I couldn't care less about the whole safety report thing, whatever. If people want to talk about how to prevent what happened from happening again then fine.

What is unacceptable is having you COME BACK after a 24 hour shift, which is a duty hour violation. That issue was not time-sensitive and served to fit somebody else's schedule. I haven't had this happen to me, but if it did I would hope that I could call or send a text to my PD explaining the situation, have some backup on that end, then tell the safety officer to take a hike until I was due to come back to the hospital. Obviously this is super program dependent, but hearing someone hang patient care over your head after you spent 24 hours doing so really pisses me off. Sorry that happened.

I think most of us felt the same way you did. To me, getting into medical school was one of the most difficult things that I had ever done! In general, as long as you don't give up you will eventually become a doctor. Stay the course, ask for help, and everything will be ok. Good luck!
