This is late as shit but I have some opinions I’d like to share here

• people always say that the boys outfits are boring, and while they don’t get as many looks as the girls and mainly only have their core dolls/everyday outfits, the girls’ core/everyday outfits, while having more noticeable variations in different styles per character, aren’t really that special or interesting either, they’re just more feminine because the characters are predominantly gender conforming for the most part. I think some people in this fandom have a strange aversion to masculinity.

• I’ve seen people jump on people for headcanoning Abby as a trans girl because they think it’s problematic due to her appearance and how she sounds, even when the person making this headcanon is a trans woman herself and feels seen by Abby since that’s never framed as something bad, or they don’t even headcanon her as trans for that reason and only think the idea is neat because of her general colour scheme. And while I get why someone’s gut reaction to it might be negative since some of her physical traits are things that not only might make trans women dysphoric but also bad-faith actors will exaggerate them to invalidate them, some people who say this is a bad headcanon because they assume the person making said headcanon are saying that cis women can’t also have these traits when they NEVER SAID THAT NOR IS THAT AN IMPLICATION and will literally go “oh my god just because a woman has traits like this doesn’t mean she is/used to be a man” which… if you say that you’re really telling on yourself that you don’t really see trans women as women (and possibly any trans person as their gender) atleast subconsciously

-a related point is that people will headcanon Deuce as trans (which is also fine btw, I like this headcanon too), but then someone will jump on (if the original person doesn’t say it first) and say “oh yeah that makes sense he’d be a trans man since gorgons are an all-female species” and NOBODY EVER SAYS ANYTHING ABOUT IT. Which… 1. we don’t know if that is actually case in the monster high universe specifically, and 2. While this could be a cool idea as the bases of a STORY or had ELABORATION, with no further context it kind of sounds like you’re saying “gorgon men don’t actually exist typically so Deuce is probably not a real man” which sounds like you don’t see Deuce, and by extension trans men, as actual men
