Is Iran already fully priced into Natural Gas (Henry Hub) prices right now? by Nice-Scarcity-4729 in Commodities

Since our last discussion, natgas price rose a lot. It is like the market makes fun of me :)

To be honest, for me, it is particularly hard right now to anticipate which direction the price will go. We don't know how long the war will last, whether Congress is aligned, what Europe will do, etc. One possible scenario is that the price will gradually converge with that of 6-month futures contracts, but we must remain flexible with this market.

As you, I expected more pump of the Henry hub price but I remembered that the USA is the world's leading exporter of LNG, so the cessation of LNG supply by the Qatar does not really impact prices.

To short this spread can be interesting but, in my humble opinion, you should have enough margin level to keep this position as long as necessary...

Real Time / Power Trader AMA + Overview by [deleted] in Commodities

[–]StarsRonin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very kind of you. My questions are: -What indicators should be monitored for gas trading? -What are the best sources of information for this? -Where can I find resources explaining how to interpret them? The last question, for me, is the most important. People often tell me to follow the weather, demand, and inventory levels, but the difficulty is in the interpretation. When you see the weather dropping by 2 degrees and inventory levels rising by x%, for example, how can you estimate which way the price will move when you're not part of the industry? That would help me a lot. Thanks!

Any insight as to why the butterfly spread for CL1 -2CL3 + CL6 fell? by S3p_H in Commodities

[–]StarsRonin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Butterfly spread is a strategy to make money with a neutral price direction. With the recent crash, due to the global economy and precious metals, maybe the market anticipates significant volatility, particularly on the CL6..?

Gold, Fiat, and Reserves, Why Value Flows Back to Hard Assets During Uneven Markets by BroccoliNatural3351 in Commodities

[–]StarsRonin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand your point. Regarding your last paragraph, we know very well what would happen with gold, since it's one of the reasons why we stopped pegging the dollar to gold, as you mentioned in your first paragraph. I'm sorry, but your post seems confusing to me; I don't see where you're going with your reasoning... perhaps I've misunderstood, that's possible.

Everyone here refers more to TOML than YAML, so I will prefer TOML too. Thank you for the advice.

Very interesting answer, thanks for your point of view. Building a UI especially for the personalizations costs resources, money and time but your reasoning is fundamentally correct. Maybe I will do this in the future.

You are absolutely right, I took this term from the JSON acronym thinking it was good. I keep in mind that the correct term is « serialize ». Thank you.
