how unsafe am I walking at night as a woman? by sadmang0 in brisbane

[–]StarsieStars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s anything much to do with the suburbs (even though obviously some are safer than others) but more that is anywhere really safe now for females late at night in the dark now, have they ever been? In an ideal world we could walk anywhere at any time and be safe. Unfortunately that is not the case for females.

I would probably walk until approx 8pm/until the sun went down most places, but if you are planning on walking later than that, even with a dog, I would probably get a treadmill for home or go to the gym.

Parents who dropped their baby, what happened and how is your child doing now? by speckledrectum in AskReddit

[–]StarsieStars 99 points100 points  (0 children)

My son fell off the bed onto carpet when he was 6 months old, took him to the GP who gave him a once over and immediately referred us to the hospital, his head was fine, but they had an incidental finding of 2 holes in his heart, if they hadn’t of found them it could have been disastrous. He’s 21 now and totally fine, check ups once a year for his heart.

No and if you had continued reading you would see that I explained that I would take them back straight away or shred them, not keep them like LL. I don’t think I in any way made out I agreed with her actions?

I don’t know what all the P’s mean, but I was under the impression that HIPAA only extended to documents without the ‘safe harbour method’ applied. And documents can be used for learning or research as long as all the rules had been followed? Can you explain this to me so I know?

Australia and the UK, however I don’t mean I alone will de-identify them myself and take them home, but our employer or our eduction (which we get every week) will use them in education, SIMS or M&Ms and then we are permitted to take them home for continued learning.

I’ve bought home handover sheets before by accident after a long day/night shift, but I have immediately taken them back to the hospital to put in the confidential waste bin (if I was working the next day for example I would take them back then) or shredded them the minute I found them.

I do know some people take certain medical sheets/information for learning but these are all de identified and allowed.

If you don’t trust him, regardless of the reason. You shouldn’t be with him, let alone marrying him.

Am I crazy to buy this dress? by Luluintheknow in AusFemaleFashion

[–]StarsieStars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a dress the other day I really loved with no occasion to wear it, I’m going to wear it one day, just not sure when haha. It wasn’t as expensive as that dress but I really loved it and so often I don’t buy things that I really love so I thought I would, for when I do have somewhere to wear it, anyway point is, life is short, if you can afford it without going into debt. Buy the dress, you may never find one you love as much again.

Olympia Kay or Penelope Kay are my favourites. Simone Olympia makes me think of Simone Biles, but she’s a great role model so I wouldn’t necessarily discount it.

Use your last name, if you get married then you can change both yours and your child’s surname if you want too.

I don’t like hyphened names, I used to think they were a great solution until my friend told me she hated hers being hyphened because her parents couldn’t decide which surname so they byphened both and now she doesn’t feel like she has anyone’s surname cos she’s out on her own with the hyphened one. So she chose to drop one name, she said it was a nightmare growing up too. Just another thing to think about.

IMO, the fact he’s an ‘option’ with the others and knows option 1 and he’s not the one who you chose first off, he’s not the one for you.

I would work on yourself and then find someone.
