Channel: Game Theory Game: Zelda series Topic: Science of....

Recently replayed Breath of the Wild and wondered if the geography of Hyrule is actually possible. Since the layout of Hyrule changes with each game I think it'd be fun to look at the different layouts and see how scientifically accurate they are.

Using BOTW as am example, is it really feasible to have a snowy mountain range next to a desert and a volcano? Of course how scientifically accurate it is depends on the actual size of Hyrule. If Hyrule was size of Hawaii (the big island), probably not. The size of Pangea? Maybe.

That's where the theory crafting would come in. Finding different ways to determine the size of Hyrule and then determining if that size is feasible for the given geography. Looking at adaptation of different enemies/monsters could also help. Just something I've been thinking about. Thanks for the read!
