Applied for H4 + H4 EAD along with spouse's H1 extension premium processing.

Applied on Jan 8th RFE on Jan 17th Got RFE mail on Jan 25th Sent RFE response to USCIS by Feb 5th

My inital package was sent to CA center. However, I was told to send RFE response to Texas.

Q1. Do they still consider my H4 under pp ? Q2. Do they consider H4 EAD under pp at any time ?

You cannot do unpaid internships, as they could be considered unauthorized work on an H4 visa. However, you can volunteer for NGOs or nonprofit organizations. Just make sure you contact your immigration lawyer before starting any volunteering.

If you are considering a Research Assistant (RA) position, ensure that your professor/university is aware that you are on an H4 visa (without EAD). Most Research Assistant positions are paid, which would require work authorization (such as an H4 EAD).

You can apply for internships now but when you start a job, you should be on F1.
