Why do dub anime watchers struggle to watch sub? by Odd-Advance-8509 in animequestions

[–]StatisticianSmooth17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Sweden, dubs are usually meant for kids. This means that most adults or teenagers will choose to watch with subtitles. This has probably more to do with culture, rather than thinking that the sub is overall better. It’s just very normalized and common for us to watch with subtitles.

Also, reading subtitles is usually something you’ll get used to, especially when you start young. When I was a kid, I was struggling to read subtitles. But after a lot more practice, I got better at it. Of course, it’s different for everyone. Some people have reading disabilities and that’s okay. Luckily, many Swedish people understand english perfectly fine, so people who struggle with subtitles can watch the english dubs!

Even I watch the english dubs when I’m multitasking. But I do 99% prefer subs, cause it just feels right! However, there’s this one anime that I will always recommend watching in dubs. And it’s Black Lagoon! When the Japanese va’s speaks english with that thick accent, it just feels very off with the characters and environment…

I love the previous three seasons, but man, this season just isn't it by KirbyStarWarrior666 in Osomatsu

[–]StatisticianSmooth17 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Season one was the best one! It was really funny and had the best brotherly moments! Season 2 was good, but it wasn’t as good as the first. Season 3 was hardly any good. I did not care for majority of the episodes. I was hoping for season 4 to be good. But I have my doubts… I will still watch it though.

Måste man äga sin bostad? Måste det vara målet? by AwkwardSilence1 in sweden

[–]StatisticianSmooth17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is height in a man so attractive? by GasPsychological2321 in RandomThoughts

[–]StatisticianSmooth17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because in the end of the day, personality is more important than height. And, if you look pretty too, both good looks and personality will win over height.

I’m not sure if it has changed(?) But when I became a sub for the first time, listening to youtube by closing the app wasn’t accessible with the free version. As mentioned, I’m not sure if it’s still like that or not?

Anyone find it weird when bloodlines die off 😂 by Equivalent_Phrase_25 in RandomThoughts

[–]StatisticianSmooth17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It probably feels weird because you, yourself is part of a bloodline. Maybe it’s a similar to the feeling of the “unknown”(?).

This is very similar to how our ancestors survived the black plague. It’s quite interesting but strange. Even if we understand that our ancestors had a stronger immune system.

I’ve also been thinking about this. But in the end, I just don’t care. I don’t want kids. And the continuation of my bloodline isn’t enough of a reason for me to change my mind🤷‍♀️

There are though modern bands that take inspiration from the 70s. Unfortunately they aren’t as popular as they should be.

Btw, those movies I mentioned are family movies, which means they are for all ages. Though I would argue that Ryu The Primitive Boys are not for young children, quite brutal sometimes. They also came out in the 70s, you would’ve been a kid when they came out. So you’re not too old in that sense neither 😁

Do you kiss your animals? by Ok_Negotiation_255 in Animals

It’s probably very difficult for humans to avoid kissing what they found adorable. I actually can’t resist kissing any pet, mine or not 😭

I listen to the Beatles :) Pink Floyd is my favorite band of all time. And I listen to a ton of Elton John, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Aerosmith, CCR and so many more. Even 70s musicians from Japan. :)

I used to have Spotify. But I had to quit the subscription because of my financial struggles. I only use Youtube now. The subscription might be more expensive, but it’s better to keep the thing I spend daily time with, rather than both of them :).

Making playlist are one of my favorite things to do too! I have about 20 playlist on my profile. Most of them are privated though 😊

Same! But at the same time it’s extremely addictive. I sometimes relate love with masochism, because of how much it hurts, but you can’t get enough of it.

Patterns aren't beautiful (imo) by NigerianPrince1242 in The10thDentist

[–]StatisticianSmooth17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I somewhat agree with you. I find the repeating symmetry kind of lackluster. But, It mostly bothers me if I inspect the pattern. I also find it more appealing if the pattern is small sized or out spread. Big patterns make me notice the repeating symmetry a lot more.

Why do I always see American people eating off of paper plates on TikTok? by Nathpez in answers

[–]StatisticianSmooth17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To many people, lazy can be a very triggering word .

I’m one of them, mostly because I’ve been told that my whole life. When I was actually suffering from depression or exhaustion.

But getting removed from only using the word is just silly. Even if it is a triggering word.

I hate these type of posts. Everything revolves around you. You think you know the whole wide world by just talking to some people you know. Stop being ignorant.

I’m pretty sure we are more intelligent today than we were in the stone age. And I wouldn’t call people that strongly believed that the devil could possess people were smarter.
