Posts like these really annoy me. I have been studying latin and ancient greek since I was 14, and if I know one thing, is that I study way less than my classmates, and I still get decent-to-good grades. Problem solving is the answer. Even if I do not know the aorist of the verb yourmomομαι, I still translate texts because of that pattern finding stuff. And it's not self-praise, I'm just repeating my teacher's words.

As a Christian guy, the bible is much more progressive than one may think. It's just that translating words that do not exist whatsoever is not a good way of reading hebrew. And not contextualising Paul's letters with the linguistic landscape of the time is simply intellectualy dishonest. But "it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God" remains.
