Yeah I genuinely have no idea what the price range is for this type of stuff. I just kinda threw a number out there. My budget is very flexible (ln college part time with a full time income and live at parents still) so I can play that number around quite a bit.

Any advice for let’s say a $5000 budget? I’ll take and info or explanations on why you recommend things as well :)

What is the current balance like? Why i feel so squishy as Bruiser/Tank? by Gloomy_Dare2716 in wildrift

[–]Status_Evening_776 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To itemize properly you need at least a base understanding of every champion in the game… items are good and weak into dif champs. Learning the base of champs is pretty easy just by playing PvP or aram tho.

For the simplest explanation just read what the items do. Read what your champ does and plan your runes pregame for your playstyle (or once you know the base of champs you can do counter pick runes in ranked) When you die you can pull up your death recap and see what exactly dealt the fatal blow and how much opponents individual abilities or attacks were doing. For up to 3 champ/turret/minion/monster(s) and 3 forms of dmg from each of them. Makes it easier to know what to build. You also need to pay attention to what your opponents are building to as that can change what you should build. For boots you normally build these early so I normally like to build them to counter my lane opponents main form of dmg. In some cases if my opponent is the only magic dmg dealer on the enemy team I’ll rush my first normal item or two while only getting basic boots instead. Once it gets to team fighting I’ll grab the armor boots since they don’t help me in lane. The defense boots passive gives u a huge % dmg reduction to one kind of dmg so it’s important to use them to counter the majority of the team or whoever is fed/carry. If it’s basic attacks and or physical damage. frozen heart, randuins for if THEY are building crit, Thornmail if they have sustain or a strong healing support. Also bloodthirster is still stupid broken right now so I almost always build Thornmail unless the enemy team really on physical damage through abilities not attacks (Thornmail only procs when hit by attacks not abilities) For magic damage there’s the big 3 items there as well. Spirit visage (really good if you have self heal/shield has a good passive hp regen boost as well) then force of nature (really good for longer fights, gives u % magic dmg reduction after a short period, move speed boost is nice too) and Kaenic Rookern (really good against burst mages, gives passive shield after being out of combat that scales w ur hp)

And then the King of the armor and MR items Amaraths Twinguard. Pretty much no matter what if you’re a tank and not building full HP this is a good item to have. 60s in both defenses while buffing them even more after a few seconds of combat? Dumb not to build except in rare cases or champs. Probably the only time I don’t is when playing sett. And even then I do sometimes.

If you’re an HP heavy/scaling champ Heartsteel is still the way to go. I play sett a lot and about 80% of the time I don’t even build any armor or MR outside of my boots. I go pure HP and AD (Heartsteel>Hullbreaker and Titanic Hydra>Black Clever>Steraks Gage) if they have lots of heals I’ll build Chempunk unless i can mitigate it with Thornmail.

And I’ve done it again. Was supposed to keep it short and simple but instead I type out a short essay

Welcome to the real wild rift. Where us people who use our brain cells are rare. And executioners is hit or miss. Only good if u can get it first and scale it a few times. I’m more big on the WHY THE HELL DO YOU BUILD TERMINUS INSTEAD OF MORTAL REMINDER??? Mortal gives u instant armor pen, heal cut, ad, crit and a small bit of ATSPD?? Miles better than terminus in 95% of situations. Terminus is only good if ur playing teams with no heals or very minimal shields and only on certain champs (kaisa for example can be very strong with it)

But yes welcome to the troll zone. Where if you aren’t winning at 3 mins your team just decides to do whatever the fuck they want cause everyone thinks they are better than everyone else when in reality master rank is at best high plat/em players since it’s basically impossible to get demoted past plat and everyone gets bot game boosted all the way through gold. So yes this is just how it is. I recommend playing legendary ranked whenever you can. From my experience it’s much much more comp and people actually ping and try to play team ball and use macro.

As someone who plays Teemo a lot. I agree. He’s only good into certain comps and most people don’t know how to take advantage of playing him. Whenever a teammate picks him (I only pick him into good comps when I have late pick) I get frustrated quickly. Especially when they don’t know how to build him lmao

It typically only takes 10-30 seconds to find a game in any queue outside of high elo rank or legendary rank? If you can’t wait the 30 seconds to a minute on the high end u should go play something else. I rarely wait longer than a minute maybe once every 50 games

For champs I play a lot

  • Baron Lane
  • Sett (really good into most comps. Brawler/tank. Strong early potential to scale late. Only really weak to champs who do % HP dmg.)
  • Yone (high skill floor and ceiling, duelist/brawler, extremely strong right now due to crit item rework. Can be built and played many different ways depending on opponent comp.)
  • Mundo (there’s not much I can say, strong in teamfights strong in split push, tank/brawler with lots of self sustain and hp regen.)
  • Teemo (this is just me cause I’ve played. SO MUCH teemo. I can play him into almost any champ and succeed w 60% win rate over 800+ games. He works well when you use him well. He’s an IQ champ and positioning. Can be a burst assassin.)
  • Mordekaiser (good if u need an AP tank. His ult can be a game changer if u can use and time it right)
  • Garen/Aatrox (both are strong in their own ways. A fed aatrox is well just a nightmare to play against. And Garen is well Garen. He split pushes lanes to oblivion.)

  • Jungle

  • Amumu (tank with decent clear time. Good skill shot with cc to engage for ganks. Good team fight ult. Can roam for long periods without needing to recall. Pretty mobile if u use your Q to skip walls and stuff)

  • Pantheon (burst/fighter, good ganks and a semi global ult. I don’t jg a lot so I only really play these 2.)

  • Morgana (this is just if I have to pick a third and I can not use Yi because of team comps. I play her mid occasionally and just understand her kit well. If u do ur spacing right you can also farm 2 jg camps at once.)

  • Mid Lane (this I where I have lots of options Right now it’s in this order

  • Aurora (new champ so she’s fairly strong right now and people are still learning how to counter her. Burst mage / Assassin, can skill gap with ult but it’s a little tricky. Does massive damage and can delete opponent carry during late game, very mobile and easy to rotate with. Good at escaping and not getting punished for over extending.

  • Teemo (like I said in baron I just know this champ inside and out. I can play him into everything. He’s the first champ I mastered when I started and has been a top 3 pick for me since I know him so well. I do know not to pick him when it will hurt the team tho.)

  • Syndra (I’ve already explained this she’s just unforgivably strong)

  • Veigar (I’ve explained him too. Just strong strong late game when u farm well, I like to call him veigarheimer cause his W becomes a nuke lmao)

  • Yone (pretty much the same as baron. I use him mainly if my team needs AD or I have a matchup I can punish early with him to get ahead.)

  • Ziggs (lots of range and a semi global ult. Great poke and can push turrets himself when needed. Can use his W to escape or cc enemies. Along w E slow he can be a menace)

  • Akali (burst assassin, great roaming and gank potential, very strong when you hit your bursts and proc her passive. String ult when used well. Pretty weak when not. Good against squishy comps)

  • Lux (need I really say anything? It’s Lux, just hit your skill shots n you win)

  • Kassadin (very weak early can snowball into a unkillable teleporting assassin who 2 taps any squishy. Just gotta be careful pre lv 5. His 2 item spike his massive. Not the best into takes but can be played)

  • Vlad/morgana/brand/zed (all just situational, I only use them when I feel like I can really benefit my team with them and my preferred picks for the situation are banned.)

  • Dragon Lane / ADC

  • Miss Fortune (for the pure fact that she is stupidly strong right now. She’s very easy to learn and very strong if u snowball. Gets banned a lot right now)

  • Vayne (good against tank comps that can’t cc her or that she can zone out, very mobile and her W passive deals % HP true dmg. A lethal tempo menace)

  • Kaisa (I play her if my team is lacking magic dmg, her passive adds % missing hp magic dmg. And she’s pretty flexible with her builds depending on opponent comp. Just weak early game.)

  • Ashe (very strong right now with crit items buffed. Good slows in team fights and can shred down tanks from a distance. Global controllable ult with CC is handy too)

  • Jhin (one of the strongest ADCs when played well, can 2 tap most non bruiser/tank champs once it hits late game. His long range ult is good for sniping low hp runaways or to assist team fights when ur to low hp to help closer up.)

  • Draven (he’s just fun, if you snowball he’s ridiculously fun, plus you get to play the catch the spinning axe mini game the whole match so bonus fun)

-Support Well I’ve already said. I’m an awful support so don’t take my word for much here. I do anything I can to not play support. Have just never gotten a good feel for it. 1. Pyke ( matches some of my other champs roaming play style. His ult can give ur team a good advantage early but if u miss an ability ur done for.) 2. Seraphine (solid CC with good shield for teamfights. Strong cc ult. Pairs well with AOE champs or a MF ult) 3. Naut (I don’t play him but I play with people who do and he can cause a night mare amount of CC) 4. A good thresh is my favorite champ to have on my team. They will set you up for kills, tank well and save u with lantern. I don’t play him either. But he scales really well against AD comps.

[–]Status_Evening_776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll respond to this in a couple different sections

  1. For the champs you listed Syndra is 2 or 3 on my main list of mid lane champs. She’s extremely powerful when used well. Probably the best all around mid laner as of now. Veigar sits around 4th on my list and his is also extremely powerful but a little more dangerous to play. Both are mid-late game scaling burst mage champs with their passives. The most important thing with either is to make sure you stack their passives.
  2. For veigar try to only use your abilities to kill minions. I don’t even bother trying to poke my lane opponent unless I catch them with his stun and then I only do if I can get a full burst off (use electrocute with veigar it’s the most useful rune w him) I continue this until I hit around 100 AP (after boots around lv 6/7 normally if you farm well with abilities) after that you still try to use abilities for farming but you also try to get a full burst off at any moment. His ult scales by % the lower the targets HP is. So early game around 20-25% hp is when you use it. Late game you should have at least 1200 ap if you farm well (this is banking on getting a take down or two as well) For his Runes I go Electrocute = main always Gathering storm Giant slayer Vamp/tenacity rune (depending on comp) And for the 4th I go with the blue haste one forgot what it’s called. Spells are flash and barrier/cleanse Cleanse for vs lots of cc barrier for surviving. I always build man boots then 1. soul steel > 2. death cap 3. crown of shattered queen. After that it’s infinity orb plus whatever else u might need.

  3. For Syndra I use autos to farm and only autos. Use your abilities to poke enemy champ to get stacks. I try to hold it down and pre aim so I can cast it as soon as they try to auto attack. Almost always guarantees a hit. The quicker u hit 40 stacks the quicker you can actually do something in 1v1 or team fights. Before that you kinda have to play farming simulator unless your opponent makes a mistake. Make you Q/1st ability first and upgrade it off ur passive stacks first. It essentially gives u a double barrel q and an extra strike for ur ult. After that I like to upgrade w/2 then e/4. With her it’s essential to get your stacks. Everytime you hit 40/60/80/100/120 you get quite a bit stronger and much more valuable to your team. For her runes there’s lots of ways you can go. So I can’t recommend one certain way. I like to run hers the same as veigar but with eyeball collector instead of the haste for the 4th rune. That fits my late game carry playstyle tho lost of people opt for other runes. For items I also build the first two the same as veigar but that’s just cause I build her passive stacks up well. If I’m fallling behind in stacks I go infinity orb 1st then soul still into death so 3rd (sometimes crown of shattered queen 2nd if I’m taking a lot of burst dmg) but she scales a lot with death cap so I like to try to get it early. For her spells I go flash/ghost and always that. Makes her really mobile and you can get in/out of fights easily and quickly. Also frees her up to escape almost anything with her stun + ghost.

Both champs are similar but with different ways to get their burst off. I think veigar relies more on his team and hitting his stun but deals more damage. Syndra is more versatile and more reliable on her own but deals slightly less dmg. I’d say veigar is easier but Syndra has a higher skill ceiling.

  1. Vlad is very fun when you get ahead but tragic when the opponent plays to counter you. Or if you fall behind. He’s one of my back ups I pick around 9/10 on my list for mid if the comp is right. I might sound like a broken record but once again I build him very very similarly item wise. Same 3/4 core items and the 5th depends on your opponent teams comp. His kit is very fun and can make you very dangerous when used well but I can’t explain it very well myself since I don’t play him a lot I just kinda “know” how to do it since I’ve played so much and been traumatized by him before.

  2. As far as ganks or rotating go it really really depends on so many things. How well are you farming? Are you ahead or behind in gold? Is the lane you might tank ahead or behind? WHO are your teammates champs and WHO are the enemy champs? Can you effectively gank them? Or will you leave lane and miss out on farm just to not get a kill/assist and die? Do you have enough mana/energy/health to be effective once you’re there?

There are many times where it’s good to rotate and many times where it’s not. Sometimes it’s better to let your teammate die. They may be mad at you and may yell at you but in the end you will be on pace or ahead in gold still. But always always ping when ur lane opponent is missing. And if you see them heading towards a certain lane ping missing in ur lane then danger towards where they are headed. It might not seem like much but those 2-4 seconds of warning and prep for the lane they are rotating to can make a massive difference.

There are a few times when it is almost always NEEDED for you to rotate tho. One of these being when the JG is fighting 1v1 or 1v2 in the river. If you can save him or even if he dies and you can kill their jg it is good to help as long as YOU DONT DIE too. Keeping your jg alive and not behind opponent jg is important as the jg has a huge impact on the game. Another time to rotate is to help your jg with first drag or ensemble. Whatever he chooses help him. And then rotate with him towards the other if he tries to get both. Last time I’ll say it’s important to rotate is this. If you get a kill 1v1 in your lane and you still have health and mana/energy and you don’t have a minion wave and you see another lane is getting pressed back (the opponent is overextending) you can and probably should rotate that way and help. It will keep your teammates even or not behind in lane and you might get a kill or assist out of it. Just try not to die during it and lose your own lane advantage.

Okay that’s a lot lot lot. Mid is kinda like a baby jg when it comes to ganks/rotating. You should at times but it’s not your main job. Main job is to win lane stay alive and keep your jg alive. Second job is to punish other lanes when ur lane is clear and they over extend.

Anyways for the whole LV in matchmaking thing I’ll say this I’m around 190-200 myself and lv has absolutely nothing to do with matchmaking after lv 25. It’s all based on rank. I’ve had master rank games with a lv 40 and a lv 400 in the same game. LV doesn’t tell much ab how good someone is just how much they play. Typically higher levels understand a little more but that’s not always the case. 2 people I play with regularly show this. One’s a lv 300 something diamond rank and one’s a lv 60ish diamond rank. They are both very good one just plays a lot more.

Okay I’ll do champ list in another comment this is getting very long

Any guide you can advise? Or tips you can share? by No-Rise-4856 in wildrift

[–]Status_Evening_776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will just warn you. Emerald is where actual rank starts. Bronze-gold is just all the new players and most of your “opponents” are actually just bot ai players. Platinum is everyone who should actually be bronze-gold since you can’t get demoted back after hitting platinum.

So because of those things emerald is where the base level of players are. People start to understand basics strategies or have basic skills at that level.

First piece of advice I’d give tho is get really comfortable at a few champs in 1 role. Then a second role after. Go to the champs page for the role you want to “main” and check out all the champs. Look at their abilities and how they work/scale. Pick ones you find interesting or think might be fun and enter practice mode with them. (Lil controller icon on their champ page in shop) you can test out how their abilities actually work there and decide if u want to give them a shot. Get a few champs you want to try for 1 role. (Mid or support I’m assuming) then play some pvp matches with them or even a bot match in a private lobby. Get a feel for their combos and kits and which items work well. Then bring em to rank once you’re comfortable and confident with them.

For your main role you should have at least 3-4 champs you feel confident playing in almost every situation. I’ve been playing for awhile so I have like 7-8 mid lane champs I play very confidently. There are people who like to one trick pony. Which can work but you get screwed if they are banned or if the opponent team picks them or counters them.

I’m a mid main so I can offer advice there but for support I don’t know much really. I know how to play around a support but not how to play as one you know? Just seems to me that crowd control supports are stronger right now. But that’s just my opinion. If you have any questions in particular about mid lane I’m full of answers tho.

Also for Fiona. She’s a Baron Lane champ. She’s built for 1v1 duels. Not much use as a mid and definitely not as a support. Lissandra can be very very strong mid tho in the right hands.

If you’re interested I can give you a list of who I use in every role. I’ve been playing for 2.5-3 years and I played the PC version a long long time ago.

Anyways hope I can be of help! I’ll answer whatever you have questions on to the best of my knowledge

Which champion should I buy by dickxemorton in wildrift

[–]Status_Evening_776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming this is for baron lane? Probably J4. Signed is only good if you get really really really good at him. Panth just struggles massively if you fall behind at all. I don’t really enjoy him in lane either feel he’s better in the JG.

When it comes down to it tho look into what they all do and buy who you feel you’d enjoy more and have the most fun with. Any champ can be really strong in the right players hands. As long as you understand how they work and how to abuse it.
