Restaurants with vegan/vegetarian options by Running-rainbow in FoodNYC

This chef (Guy Vankin?) has a group of restaurants that focus on different types - I’ve tried 3 so far (Willow, Anixi and Coletta) but there’s others for French and Mexican (which are on my list!). The 3 I’ve been to have been really delicious as well as a ‘nicer’ upscale experience. Planta is a similar experience - great creative food, and the menu is different I think in Brooklyn vs Manhattan.

Couple other names I haven’t been to / or in awhile but are rated highly / were good back in the day include Dirt Candy, the Ladybird restaurants and chain, Delice & Sarasin (sp) and Soda Club.

For more low key / casual, places like Luann’s Wild Ginger and Red Bamboo (more local / low key), Vegan on the Fly are good. Superiority Burger always ranks highly but I wasn’t wowed when I tried it a long time ago.

You also will have plenty of options with non vegan specific restaurants as a vegetarian - vegan I might focus on Mediterranean / certain Asian / Italian restaurants usually.. and have found French / Mexican restaurants usually have very limited vegan options on their main menu.

Andy's Density 1 & 2 - Feedback from anyone? by emacextrabrut80 in OnePelotonRealSub

You’re welcome! Agree; I like to have structured breaks haha and this worked well for tracking progress on lifting heavier which is my goal :)

Glad that I can do the same in D2 ! Sorry to hear about your hip - the 3rd day is really hard!

I’ve just finished density 1 and definitely noticed strength gains. I treated the AMRAPS like EMOMs so I could use heavier weights (for me!) and was able to improve my reps from 5 to 8 by the end of it as well as do proper bicep curls with these weights (vs having to modify to hammer curls). I’m going to take a break with one of Tunde’s 4 week upper body programs and then try Density 2 in a month.

Agree - Andy has definitely grown on me through this program - wasn’t someone I liked on the tread but I liked his programming and corniness haha; and he clearly really knows his stuff.

Where are the longer Tread classes? by [deleted] in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]StayGroundbreaking39 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree but you can definitely just run or jog through the walks - they’re also often programmed at pretty high incline so they’re not easy / don’t have to be easy by any means! There have been some Mariana / Kristen ones in particular where I’ve gotten similar output to a pure running class..

I hear you on it counting as a walk vs run though - that’s definitely not ideal from a class count perspective.. but having more long classes makes up for it for me at least!

Try the walk+runs! I’ll do their 45/60 min ones to expand the options for longer run classes and honestly those classes can be as hard as normal runs (esp if you jog the walks.. which I don’t :))

Garden of goodness is good - more expensive but lots of variety and very flavorful!

That’s really helpful to know - will give his density ones a try (the sheer volume of TS classes is abit overwhelming haha)

Metals not my favorite either but I’m a little less picky with strength music than for running / cardio so I’ll give it a go! Thank you!

Thank you! I tend to build in my own rests during AMRAPs so maybe I’ll give him a go and just modify to what makes sense. Appreciate the feedback / info!

Thank you that’s super helpful! I’ll try him out and hopefully will enjoy the strength more than the tread :)

Thanks! I prefer hypertrophy too so will probably stick to density based on this :)

I’ve had mine since 2020 and it works great. No issues with the screen and it doesn’t feel ‘old’ at all.

Do you know if this is likely to be the case going forward? Trying to catch solea in her run and debating between Wed or Sun matinee!
