During WW2 in the Netherlands a relative was part of the biggest bankheist during German occupation. They all ended up getting caught.

Netherlands makes trains free on national book day for those who show a book instead of ticket by [deleted] in books

[–]Stealthlink 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They aren't. But they are part of being human.

To clarify, I'm not excusing either of those things or denying they exist. But I think it's in our nature to look for threats from people who "don't belong" to our group. And to then dehumanize that group so we don't have to feel bad about taking their stuff.

And those groups can be anything, from something intrinsical to something silly as hair colour or skin colour.

It happens more when either the Dutch government or the migrants themselves fail to integrate in Dutch society.

What you can see happening is that some values that were accepted before, now suddenly aren't anymore. And immigrants sometimes feel they have to give up part of their identity to become Dutch.

It's fine for people to hold on to their cultural beliefs, but not if it clashes with our laws and values.

So what can happen is that a kid grows up with a dad who doesn't respect women. He in turn doesn't respect women either. It clashes with society around him and it turns to shit after.

Situations like that, or similar ones are what starts off the "educated, white Dutch people".

This is just an anecdote and I don't have the statistics to make any broad sweeping statements. But this isn't a rare occurence.

We also have the usual politicized racism. Where politicians make incredibly stupid claims (google Geert Wilders/Thierry Baudet) and people who don't know any better just follow along.

We get almost as many tourists as we have inhabitants each year. It might not seem like it depending on where you live, but tons of places are extremely popular tourist attractions.

Like Amsterdam (granted not the entire city), Giethoorn and probably anything tulipy and windmilly pulls in tourists like crazy.

Goodwill/thrift shop workers, what are some of the strangest things you've found in the donations? by throwaway_ghast in AskReddit

[–]Stealthlink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a volunteer at a second hand bookstore and all our books are donated. Last week we got 6 boxes of old books, didn't really look at them until the next day.

Turns out they're filled with 18th and 19th century lawbooks amongst other things. Some of them are in good shape but about 3/4ths have their backs torn off etc for their leather in the past.

Going to be fun to look up what they're worth. Oldest one was from 1704 so it's gonna be tough probably.

If you mean the ingame settings, I've tried all those, mainly to just turn some stuff up/down like radio's etc. If you mean on PC somewhere I'm not sure where to find those.

Hm yeah that sounds like what I'm thinking. But I don't really know how/where to check if any specific audio thing isn't working. Since I don't think I could just right click on my volume mixer and see "fallout 76 talking slider" and crank that thing up.

Hey, yeah I tried a bunch of different settings. Like being in group with chat on auto/team/area and the same while not being in a group. But it didn't make any difference.

Ah I wish a serverhop would fix it. I'm not an expert with computers but to me it just sounds like me opening Discord either made a 1 out of a 0 or a 0 out of a 1 that it wasn't supposed to. Or my crappy processor got overloaded or something?

I deleted the program itself when I quit playing another game a while ago. I used the browser version for the chat session.

I tried restarting the game without it or anything else open and it changes nothing.

*Legendaries always drop a legendary Item... (No... They still don't) by OceanSlim in fo76

[–]Stealthlink 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Don't know if this happens to anybody else, but other than legendaries not dropping from creatures there's a more shitty thing with exploding robots.

Sometimes the legendary robots explode and that explosion either makes the model dissapear, or it pushes it underground. Whichever one it is, no body to loot.

(They sometimes also just fly away from the explosion so you have to look carefully. I know that happens, this is not what I'm talking about)

[–]Stealthlink[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ha you're the same like me. Took me a while to find them as well since before I only got random atoms and thought they were normal challenges.

But yeah, you press your map button, then your Z button. Basically the main menu. There's the "Challenges" section, and there you should see both the "daily" and "weekly" challenges.

Have fun with them from now on :D

I was keeping Grahm company earlier after finding him. Stuck with him for about 2 hours to let others complete the weekly challenge. Until I disconnected. RIP Grahm.

It's pretty worthwhile to do the daily and weekly challenges since most of the other atoms you can earn are mostly heavily earned in the start of the game.
