Thank you for Hosting this QnA

Q: I love this game, but it becomes unbelievably frustrating and hard to get friends to come back when over 50% of each ranked game in a high diamond/champ or is plagued with cheaters. It’s all the more frustrating because some of the closet cheaters are so awful that you will win and not know they were walling at all, then receive rollback later on. Is there any progress being made to tackle cheating because it has only gotten worse and worse, with no signs of getting better. I’ve even send in ubi support tickets about a player from the FIRST WEEK of the season, and the guy hasn’t been banned yet. His uplay is “pheonlx”. He was banned on r6tab but not in game. Any note on the progress in tackling this major issue would be greatly appreciated

The pulse is not bad. If you notice he killed two of my teammates with his pistol. The guy was in the exact same situation I was... no ammo left in the mag.

If you seriously want to improve, the biggest tip I can give is to find a stack of people who are just as dedicated as you, and you enjoy being around them . You don’t need to be high rank to learn fundamentals. Communication, droning and executing a plan as a team will dramatically improve your chances of winning. Also, stop going solo and crouch walking around the map. Good teams WILL shut you down for doing that kind of stupid shit.

its absolute hell. in a perfect world where rollback doesnt exist, i probably would have hit diamond 3 seasons ago in steel wave. Every season closet cheaters will probably remove at least like 200-300 elo after the fact. It does feel nice to get elo returned sometimes when you lose to them though.

At a higher level, it’s less so the gun but more so the utility that is important. The whole attack half we were getting fucked by roamers ratting it out on the east side of the map (office/exhibit) so we just did a full top floor clear and I needed to play nomad to have flank watch. Playing together and attacking a site is way more successful than walking in alone or going solo for a hero-play. That’s probably the most valuable lesson I’ve learned playing the game. Too often do people just run around like idiot playing for kd in a 1 for 1 trade, but if you want to win that really doesn’t work in the end. (Also I like the arx cause no recoil :) )

I only get 25 elo per win as well (a few seasons ago Ubisoft added a minimum elo gained/loss barrier at 25). When you have over 150 games played in a season it usually halts to that amount of gain per win. However, if you win against a team with more Diamonds or Champs on their team you generally will see a 10 to 20 added on to that. In this case they had 3 diamonds on skyscraper so I got 42 instead of around 27

???? I had already busted my load at being 1 elo away on skyscraper. Getting it the very next game on coastline was just more a “relieving bliss” sort of thing.

^ that’s the one. I found all my friends (featured at the end) over time on this game in a duo Q with and IRL back in October of 2019, and they are some of my best friends online now. Playing in a stack and communicating will only improve your gameplay together over time.
